Does anyone remember this board back in 2000

E2, WCP and myself made the very first post on the Chat Board when it was first introduced....It has changed quite alot since then, with many members, to numerous to mention comming and going...The board is much like life itself...constantly changing....Just gotta change with the times my friends...

For the record...I liked the board back in 1999 and 2000 much better as well.

Just seemed like there was a different brand of humor back then...and like citrus said some commraderie among a group of warriors so to speak... not like that anymore

I remember the board back then and yes, liked it much better. Things have changed tremendously and I don't really know why.

I always felt that the C&C board was a place where one should "post at their own risk" LOL but everyone ALWAYS knew how far to take it. When I first was made a mod, in that first year I think I may have requested 3 members be banned. Now it's so damned common that it annoys us even to have to make the request.

I think it boils down to one thing: RESPECT.

Funny how you guys sit here talking about how hard you train to achieve your goals but then don't hesitate to cut down a female who works with equal intensity if not more because she "is a man".... I don't understand that.

Puc, what is this clique and "secret board" you talk of? I also don't know why it would bother you that people call you fat. It isn't like you didn't say that you were fat yourself...

Have you all noticed an obvious lack of participation on this thread from women? Gee, I wonder why?

There was a time when the C&C board was frequented by mostly bb's who wanted to kick back and have some laughs. Were everyone shared a common bond and 99% gave RESPECT.

We can all sit here and reminisce but those days, I fear are gone for good.

i think frackal and c-ditty are mistaken in their belief that most of the people here aren't serious about their fitness. i'm sure the population in C&C doesn't even REMOTELY resemble (fitness-wise) the general population at large. (no pun...)

Ok, you started this.

Being called fat does not bother me. What bothers me is the logical extension made by many that I therefore do nothing but eat Twinkies and jack off (well, the second is true). I have said before on here MANY times that I strive to be utterly honest with myself and others. I have also said that I do workout, and i am in reasonable shape. When I am accused of not being this way, I am being accused of lying.

On to the second point, where you saw respect, I saw ass kissing. I saw blowing sunshine. I saw a clique of people who did nothing more than toss petty havoc-style flames that had no substance. Sailor girl reappearing recently reminded me exactly how fucking annoying that crap was.

Where you see banality now, I see far more honesty. I see less mod ass-kissing and George worshiping. I see something that more resembles reality. Sometimes, i think you have problems with reality.

As far as the secret board goes, truthfully i do not remember which board it was. I do recall vividly some of our renowned post junkies migrating to other boards for this purpose, however. Ask around, I am pretty sure havoc or rotten would remember...

I am just trying to understand what your problem is with being called fat.

As for a clique, there is no secret that there is no love lost between Sailor Girl and I so what is your point with that? As a matter of fact there is no love lost between me and a host of members... so?

As for this "secret board" you speak of, many boards have started from elite. The Whole F'in Show had one, MM had one, AF started as a result of people who originally "met" on elite, Rotten's Doghouse, etc and so on. Which one of these was "secret"?

Just because people didn't feel the need to disparage and put people down with INCREDIBLY RUDE remarks does not mean that people weren't honest. Unless somebody uses degrading four-letter words that means that they are not honest?

Then the reason that MOST who were around then that are still here today enjoyed the boards better because there was more frolicking through the daisies with our clique-y brothas and sistas and ass-kissing whereas today the reason THAT MOST don't like it better is because of all the "honesty". It has NOTHING TO DO WITH RESPECT.

Makes a lot of sense.
