Do you think depressed people use the internet most?

this forum is awesome cause i get to interact with a really diverse group of people and learn about things that i'd never encounter in my everyday life. pretty much all my friends are fratboy/sorority girl types, and it gets old talking about partying/work/hooking-up all the time.

Learn things from me by reading my posts.

Talked to a friend who doesn't do myspace, no IMs, no chat, no forums of any kind, rarely even emails, like once a week. Says that the internet is cool for looking up something like an address or movie time, but the social interaction is dominated by depressed people. Wasn't meant in a derogatory way at all, actually sounded like he felt sorry.

i think there's no corrolation at all. some people love to have the latest cell phone or video game, others couldn't care less if they have one at all. i doubt money or happiness have anything to do with either.

i don't do IM or myspace (i set up a page once and never looked back at it.) and i'm here a lot because my work keeps me online all day anyway.

Actually it helps me feel LESS depressed

- I feel like a million bucks after seeing how miserable and lame you people are.

He sounds like a hermit, I need some interaction outside of work because I'm a social person and I don't go to clubs/bars very often. My friends are all married and I don't have a gf so my option are limited. I can get a better debate online than I can in real life because people are less restrained, which I prefer. Also, the internet has a wealth of knowledge outside of directions and movie times.
yeh u rite! :artist:
