Amtrak isn't running at all. I think they are stopping the trains that head to New Orleans (from NYC) in Atlanta. There is no service between Orlando and Texas (another route that services New Orleans).

I work for a hotel company. Right now, they are convincing the hotel owners (a lot of the hotels are franchised) to allow them to pay people. They don't care about the insurance they have for situations like this not covering it. They are hoping to cover 2-4 weeks of pay. It isn't enough (is it ever?), but at least its something. The stories I've heard are frightening,

I saw a man on cnn earlier today who watched his wife be swept away in the water as his house was ripped in half and he could no longer hold her hand due to the rushing water, this man was lost,didnt know what to do or where he was,all he could do was sob. this is a very sad time and there is nothing funny about this or a need to be a fucking prick.

I hope the mods or admin stand the fuck up and get rid of this fucking waste of space.
