ROFL! I was referring to land animals but I'm sure matt will show up with a cocky little response.
Not trying to sidetrack any bombing runs, but, why did you find this post funny (plankton), & not Matt's? I think they were both in the same vein & both were funny.

This is easy for you to say, when you're young, healthy, & not there.
These peeps have prolly lived a lifetime in one neighbourhood. It's human nature. History is filled with people who did not want to give up their life. & for those that survived, their life is over, as they new it, for many years anyways. Sometimes these stories are the stuff of legends & heroes. Sometimes they're not.
Not to be judgemental, but from what I saw, a lot of the people getting rescues were from low income neighbourhoods. If you're 50 or 60 years old & your only option is to go live on the streets. that's a different choice than what us younger folks have.
I really cannot begin to comprehend the tragedy here. Seeing the video, seeing the news, thinking about all the social, political, & economic upheaval for that entire region.
BTW, I don't know if they are doing this, but I think looters & criminal elements trying to benifit from this should be stood against a wall & shot. That's different from people scrounging for food.

I don't agree with him, but a lot of people feel this way & most won't admit it. & it's not just poor people. I saw something this morning about how Brett Favre's family stayed in Mississippi. I think "faith in god" and stubbornness also come into it.

obviously my heart goes out to them but like i saw on the news last night people getting rescued from their roofs even 2 small children...a husband who was seperated from his wife and all that it is sad.....BUT they should have listened and left when they could..i can see people in florida or georgia or alabama riding it out but knowing that N.O can flood and have such devastation why not get the hell out!!!!! they should have done what was best to protect their family, and themselves!

I don't. The dumbasses were told to get the hell out of there. There's always a few morons that insist on staying behind in their ever stable mobile home. I say...let em die.

People, you can either approve or disapprove members posts. It's a good feature we have here.

Wow, a lot of hate towards FTF.

I don't feel sorry for the people that chose to stay there either. Mother Nature isn't something to be taken lightly especially something as serious as this. Some people say they had no choice but to stay? come on, if volcano lava was coming straight towards you would you simply lay down and die? Heck no. No matter how 'poor' you were, you'd find away out of that area.

Face it, most everyone stayed in the path of the hurricane on purpose. Now do I think they deserved to die? absolutely not, but remember "you live based on the paths (decisions) you take"

I don't know if you heard, but the city told everyone they'd be cited and fined if they abandoned their pets -- but it was also absolutely forbidden to take them with you to an evacuation center (like, duh). Now what do you do? Call up the vet and say "I need you to put Fluffy down before the hurricane gets here"???

The City announced several drop off centers and even allowed pets at some of the centers after the City realized there were so many in need of shelter.

I was more pointing to the people who simply left and made no attempt to get their pets a safer location. Some people literally drove off without them.

Of course, I'd shoot the looters too.

Damned there's a bunch of thin skinned bastards on this site. Hell, anyone that wanted to get out of the city or go to a shelter had the fucking chance to do so. The people that stayed behind and died did so by their own choice. One lady was quoted as saying that she was staying because "god can turn this thing around at the mouth of the Mississippi River". Come on, anyone that stupid should be removed from the gene pool.

I stand by my remarks.
