do you believe in god?

there's a divine presence in this universe........no matter what "physical" explanations atheists come up with, I can't help but look in the sky at night and not see "something" there. I think where man went wrong was to try to put "god" in physical terms that are palatable to the human intellect.........and from there on it evolved into "control". Control what men beleive is going to happen to them when they die, and you can dictate to them what to do............religion disgusts me to the core of my being. I "see" god.........but I have no need to put him/it into a human box from which I can understand him/it better...........because I realize my human limitations. Some things weren't supposed to be realized in full..........but each of were supposed to follow our own path through life and find god/divine presence on our own terms. Why anyone trusts ANYTHING written by men is beyond me.........it truly is. Listening to people characterizing the bible as divinely written strains my every intellectual fiber..........because it's nonsense.

I believe there is more to existance than that which our usual five senses reports back to us.

I believe we are part of the Divine and the Divine is part of us and the Divine is the machinery of the universe, actually the Universe itself.

I do not believe in some gray bearded dude in a long white robe and sandles sitting up in some cloud writing down in some book every time we diddle ourselves.

I do not believe in some redskinned dude with a pitchfork and horns, waiting for those of us who diddled too much to land in his fire ponds.

I do believe that there have been elevated masters, like Buddha, Christ, Mohammed, etc., who have walked among us and taught.

The other stuff is a lot of details, you find what works for you and go from there. It all works out, we have all of eternity to figure it out.
