do you believe in god?

no, i don't believe in god.
religion is an old wives tale people believe because its the societal norm and because their parents taught them to.

it's good for people, but there's not a shred of truth to it.

Humanism doesn't oppose theism, nor atheism or agnosticism.

Whether or not you believe in God is not really the point, how you act on that belief is the point:

A) My believe in God means I must help other people and make this world a better place...

B) My believe in God means I must wage holy war against all those unbelievers, die all those homosexuals, atheists and EF C&C users...

It's the latter that scare me.

reminds me of a sketch on SNL with Robert Duvall, "grisly old men" a contest where two old men had to face off to see who was most hardened grisly old man

I can't rememebr what the other guy said... but Robert Duvall wins it when he says in a rugged ol southern boy voice:

"when we hit the beach at Normandy... I never wished more there was a god in heaven... an I was never more certain der wodn't"

all the whey said:
Is God the one that has elves working for him? Or, is it the one that gave me money when I put a tooth under my pillow when I was a kid?

I get them mixed up.

LOL! to explain this quaote further.... there is a difference between FANTASY and REALITY!

religon was created by mans mind, hence it is not fact.

besides, if god was so superpowerful - creating us with a mere thought, why did he make us so imperfect?

why did he create mindless dinosaurs that roamed the earth for thousands of years?

why did he create millions of other planets with no life.

thers nothing logical about this.

come on man.

i don't know what i believe. . .but i take my wife and kids to church every sunday. . .it makes my wife happy. . .i don't need any other reasons. . .

nope.
but I do believe in the power of the universe and a super being, but to give him a name and go to a place to worship him absolutely not.
religion is big business probably one of the largest and earliest corporations to be created.

"logic" really has no place in a discussion on religion. . .believing in something that you've never seen and that no one can prove exists is, by it's very nature, illogical. . .trying to understand and prove or disprove it through logical means is about as useful as tits on a boar. . .

did you watch "The Gods Warriors" on CNN? It aired for 3 nights, each episode 2 hours long and it presented (unbiasedly) the jewish, muslim and christian "warriors" . It made me sick to my stomach.
