when ever you're happy??? or like a family member or friend try's to blame you for something going wrong in their lives? i don't understand this.
 
no. i haven't noticed this.

but if one is trying to get you down b/c you are happy its b/c they are jealous and envy you. they do not want you to have what they can not have? a negative person + a positive person= a negative reaction/feeling, does it not?

I had a friend like that years ago. I was pretty much only allowed happiness if she was happy too. She was toxic. After a couple of years I was like, enough is enough. Since then, I have never let anyone even remotely like that into my circle. Life is too short to waste time on people who are selfish and like to spread misery. That includes family. I have some family who, if they need me, I'll always be there. But otherwise I will not let them interfere with the life I have chosen for myself.

Exactly......if they need you, your there...but you cant let anyone walk all over you and try to bring you down. You cant let the "but they're family" bug bite you. If they were that great of family members, they wouldnt do it in the first place.
 
Sometimes it's hard to avoid..... Like if you work them
...... Or gave birf to you.
 
ever get a stranger or co worker that's like "wtf are you so happy about?" or "why are you always smiling?" just catches you off guard...

most people only want you to succeed if they feel they are more successful than you. Otherwise they will try to bring you down because they feel insecure about their own lack of success. i have a lot of phony friends =/

I used to get that all the time...

But I don't hang around those people or work in that type of environment anymore.

Now my happiness and smiling are infectious and everybody LOVES that I spread positive energy in spite of how many unhappy circumstances I am living with.

good post. a lot of the time thats what all the ball-busting between guys is about.

good bros build you up, not bring you down.

I also like Nef's and chris's approach, takes a strong person to do that. choose your friends carefully because they can have a big impact
 
See now I could never understand this severe ball-busting that I see many males engaging in. I remember this one time this group of friends (well they're not MY friends anymore LOL) would bust the balls of the dudes so badly, I swear this one time one of the guys almost started to cry. I was like, "WTF?!" Dude was no pussy but it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the guy was REALLY hurt by the ever escalating barage of verbal assaults and ensuing laughter. All I could think to myself was, "Damn with friends like this who needs enemies?"

Fast forward a year or so (when I was pretty much fully absorped in that group of friends) surprize, surprize I was on the receiving end of the line of the same behavior... endless barage of escalating nasty insults and ensuing laughter. I mean these people said THE NASTIEST things to me imagineable... and then roared with laughter.

Life lesson learned... BIGTIME.

Those peeps were soooooooooo fucked up. THANK GOODNESS I got waaaaaaay nothing to do with them anymore, haven't for over 5 years.

Man, everyone I surround myself with goes out of their way to reciprocate good vibes... but yeah I have been around whiners in the past, I dropped that shit with much haste... If you wanna be happy you gotta make sure you surround your self with peeps who care and actually give a shit about ya. Best thing one can do, and this is I have learned empircally is be with peeps who value you and what you are all about. If not, drop em.
 
The best revenge is living well.

Or being fly like me :supercool But yeah, since living well is your only option, it's best you shoot for that one.
