...the wishes of the voters are not the concern here, what is important is getting democrats in power. Gephart, Kerry and others aren't impressed that the AARP has endorsed this plan which was put together by elected representatives of the people.

They will criticize it and vote against it because they don't want to give Bush and the GOP credit for accomplishing what they have not been able to, although they have talked about it for years.
