Deadlift advice needed

i moved to doing deadlifts on leg day. back day is packed with too much other stuff to really fit it in. good idea or no? also i think im going to start my leg workout with deads, last time i finished with deads and almost puked allover the floor. today is leg day, which makes me want to puke anyway when i do legs... is it because blood supply is in lower extremities?
 
Probably not a good idea unless you go light on one or the other. Maybe heavy dead and light squats or vice versa. One will take away so much from the other I try and do mine as far apart as possible. If you deadlift first your legs will probably be ok but your back will be too worked to really do squats as good as you normally would. Or if you do squats first you legs will probably be shaky by the time you hit deads.
When I do heavy deads I dont have anything left in the tank to do other back exercises. I do heavy deads everyother week and hit rows, pull downs, etc on the inbetween week. And after a good squat routine I cant hrdly walk afterwards so it would be impossible for me to hit deads.
 
I alternate between stiff legged deads and sqats on leg day. You have to do one light and one heavy and altenate every week. My legs get smoked. My strength has gone up dramatically I started doing this for legs about begining of december. Get ready to be fucking drained though dude. After I finish I burn myself out on the sled and do three sets of seated calf raises before I crawl to my truck. I still do regular deads on back day but keep it to a warm up and just three sets. You'd be crazy retarded if you did both heavy deads and Suats on th same day IMO.
 
I would not be able to squat after pulling deads. My back is usually smoked after DLs. I too like to pull and squat on different days. You say your Back day has too many lifts to get in DLs? What does your current back routine look like? DLs should take precedent over any other back exercise imo. Doing DLs on back day every other week and hitting Heavy rows from the floor on the alternate week has worked well for me too.

What would cause you to have to many other stuff to move deads. What else or how many sets are you doing to have to do this?
 
damn... i barely survive them on seperate days....imo if you can do more than 2 other exercises on dl day...you arent pulling hard enough.
 
well i started with deads on leg day and it seemed to work out pretty well. i can definately feel it in my ass and lower to mid-back. was able to pull 4 good sets with the last one at 385 x 10 reps, which i was pretty happy with being 6'5". most of my back workout seems to affect my upper back and lats, so i will keep the deads on leg day for a couple more times to see how it goes.

deadlifts seem to be somewhat nonexistent at my gym, i have only seen 2 other people doing them at my LA fitness. they have really helped my core strength alot and i dont understand why more ppl dont do them here...lol...their loss.
 
If you want to get big you need to squat and deadlift, end of story.
 
5x5 has squats and deads on the same workout, WESTSIDE has a variation of each on the same day too, DC can be thrown in too and many of the old days full body workouts. I say why not? I tried and liked it, but my deads rep scheme it's based on singles, doubles and triples not really going for the pump and I do it first on the leg day. Am I the only one thinking that this works?

But you back workout and your entire split got me thinking about what the hell are you doing...
