DC style training

Did the first one last night, and while it was brief, judging by the relative "soreness" today- more a deep tired feeling really- I guess it was effective. Anyone else doing the slow eccentric (4 second count) with 10 deep breaths between each of three work sets, and feel that the poundage is significantly lower with it? Is it still effective?

I'm on first week of a 12 week bulker, and want to make sure I do the most effective routine from the start. I've been doing straight sets Mon,Tues, Thurs, Fri. Now switching to Mon, Wed, Fri and starting DC style as best as I can using free weights and a power rack. Thanks for any comments.

What exactly did your routine look like today? And in upcoming days?

I wouldn't mind seeing a journal of this. It would be great if you could make it here often enough and post it up. I would enjoy that.

Day one (Monday) I did flat bench, rope pressdown, and seated dumbell press. Each time I did the warmup sets, then one rest-pause work set. At first, and earlier today, I didn't think it was a big deal. In fact, I thought it was pretty easy- albeit it forced me to come down in the poundages lifted. However, at the end of my first rest day, the tired feeling has become a deep soreness. I'm thinking of doing a workout where I can incorporate DC training and 5x5 routines. I don't know if I will do 4 weeks at a time of one or the other, or 2 weeks at a time, or interval them within the next 12 weeks- like a heavy/light thing where I use DC as the light day. Of course, I told my workout partner after the first set that I'm going to have to check my ego while getting the DC training up and running.

Thanks for your interest, and I will post it up. For now, tomorrow will be Squat (20 rep set), Bent over row (12 rep set), Pullup (hard to say reps there), Power rack shrug (12 rep set), EZ bar curls (12 rep). I'll get it into a routine though- for now I'm just focusing on moving iron, stuffin in food, and hydrating.
