Damn Speeding Ticket

Thursday afternoon was issued a speeding ticket 7 over the limit really pissed me off till Iread article on this poor bastard!!
ZURICH – A Swiss millionaire has been given a record speeding fine – of $290,000!
The man is a well-known millionaire, who owns a villa with five luxury cars. As a repeat offender of speeding limits, he was judged more harshly by the court.
After he was caught driving a red Ferrari Testarossa at 85 mph through a small village, about 35 mph faster than the limit, the court issued him a speeding fine of $290,000!
The fine was calculated based on the driver’s wealth, believed to be about $22.7 million.
“The accused ignored elementary traffic rules with a powerful vehicle out of a pure desire for speed,” the court said in its judgment.

i always thought the point of a fine was to compensate society for harm/risk incurred. i guess in this case fines are supposed to be preventative? i have been sitting here for a while deciding if this was a good ruling or not

His Lawyer sucks lol... I got pulled over a couple nights ago I was playing poker on my phone lol hella stupid I know but it was late nobody on the road... So he says that's some of the worst driving I ever saw, I was like sory officer I was trying to get a cough drop out of my pocket lol, gave me a sobriety test n sent me on my way...

There was a German pro cyclist that got fined for hitting a trash can in his Porsche.

Former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich has lost his driving licence for a year following a drink-driving incident.

A German court also decided that the Team Telekom rider should pay a fine equivalent to two months of his annual salary, which is thought to be around $3.8m.

Ullrich, the Olympic road race champion who won the Tour in 1997, knocked out a rack and several bicycles with his Porsche outside a Freiburg hotel in the early hours of 1 May.

Ullrich fled the scene but was found to have had three times the permitted level of alcohol in his blood when driving.
