the arab governments openly condemn Israel and wish its citizens to go into the sea (or something like that), there is a difference between an army retaliating for terrorist actions and govt's not only condoning, or allowing to happen, but actually financing terrorism...and i don't ever see the arab countries destroying Israel, in 1948 before the 10billion$ that the US gives Israel every year, the settlers somehow pushed back all 9 (Libya, Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria...and one more)

I thought it was the British (Balfour declaration) that primarily steered Israel to be a nation .. and after WW2 the Britsh really couldn't afford to control the area, so they requested partition.

Check your history and you will find that Israel frequently hung palestinians from street lights years and years ago. To this day the Mossad has infiltrated most arab organizations. Israel has an intelligence system much like the old KGB.

Remember the political assination that took place there a few years ago? The Israeli government is not interested in compromise. Israel gives their demands for peace and expects the Palestinians to abide by them or there is no deal.

It's pretty obvious to me that the current and past political decisions on behalf of the Israeli's haven't worked. The Iron Curtain fell, the IRA pretty much is done, Cuba is a non-threat, and yet the Israeli's still cannot negotiate their way out of this situation.

The only people interested in peace in the Middle East are Westerners. Who else is setting up peace "deals"?

I blame it all on Islam and Judaism and their stupid old, old hatreds and religions.

johnny O is right....it was british help, not american that was the influence.....in what was known as britsih palestine. and Sharon was soooo responsoble, the miliary underb his command trained those idiots that went in there and massacred hundreds and when they found out about it they did nothing. they could have pulled them out but they didnt.

let me ask you something. the palestinians were a nomadic people (originally). they didnt have a government of thier own, they didnt need one. the country was colinised by the british, they 'became the government'...then the british stood by and let the palestians be uprooted from their homes. why. there were an awful lot of jewish people to be relocated aftr the horrors that had taken place in europe. thats one possible reason.

they were there first. as for the muslims, yeah...a lot of their actions are pretty scummy....should the palestinians be constantly screwed over for what other muslims have done. and no, simply cutting the millions in aid that israel gets wont stop their hate of the US....why would iranians stop hating the US after what the cold war and both sides actions did to their country.
