When I lived in the States , one of the most surpirsing things was the disparity between the way certain events in the media are portrayed there and in Europe. And by that I mean it seemed that the media (there) towed the government line all the way.

However , over here we have these pesky things , documentaries we call 'em, and some of them are on this topic ,and they're not made by any tree-huggin' hippies either , they're made by the BBC, which is British and hence closely allied with the Americans , and even THEY can't help but condemn this guy and his policies.
You may not be familiar with the Kahan commission , but it was an ISRAELI investigation into the Lebanese massacres in 1983. It found Sharon "indirectly responsible for the killings" , and he resigned shortly afterwards , and if you don't believe me then I invite you to :

You may well be right about the Arab leader massacre stuff , I doubt if Hamas leaders bear white doves every day ,but they also do not pretend to be something else , which is normal politicians involved in a "peace-loving" democracy. Israel and Jews in general did very well out of the most famous war-trial in history , and fair play to them , but they seem to have a real problem with subjecting themselves to the same justice.
