what make u say the jews were there first....jewish people were migrants as far as my bible studies recall....that and the fact thats its fairly obvious muslims were idniginous to that reigion....maybe not too many of them but then tyhey considered it thier land and wandered round it...as for when they lived in houses, true some of them may have left....but no way did all fo them leave voluntrairly, many houses were urnt down.

as far as i know jerusalem was was won and lost by the christians during ther crusdaes and by the arabs defending it, thats why 3 religions place such grerat emphasis on it. i do agree on the fact that some muslims are very intolerant of other cultures...i cant say they all are though

dont get me wrong.....not all of the palestinians are squeaky kleen, hamas will happily take civillian targets as kill. but there are instances where one jewish soldier will be killed, and the response is totally disproportionate. muslims will never give up jerusalem as that city holds as deep a religious meaning for them as it does for the jews. barak had sorted out a plan to divide up jerusalem which was beng agreed by the palestinians...then sharon decided to visit....

jerusalem has a deep religious significance to both of them. their religion deictates who they are as a people. neither side will say take this city. would muslims give up mecca...no becuae of what lies in it (that big opbelisk thingy) or jerusalem (i cant remebr but there are a lot fop sacred things there), would catholics giove up rome, no because of the vatican city, would jews give up jerusalem, no becuase of the wailing wall. thats why neither side will budge. dividing it up, or carpet bombing the whole city are the only options.

the previous plans would haven worked. muslims were alrerady pissed at having their movemnets in the city dictated by soldiers, jerusalem is currently a city where the move where allowed by the israelis, and were restricted access in the past to certain religious areas. the plan drawn up by barak cpuld have worked.

well...if that city was in the possesion of the palestinians for many years, and someone took it over by force, u'd kinda want it back. especially when u aernt allowed to visit religiously significnt ares of that city. there are areas of jerusalem that the israelis do not really have a vested interest in....enough for ehud barak to offer it. the arabs will not rest until they have access to those parts of the city, whcich cannot be turned on and off as done in the past.

israel also expanded its border via warfare, and laid down settlements in some of these areas. why shouldnt other countries get back their land (its mostly desert anyhow). bottom line...peace deal was on the table, before it could be accepted, sharon killed it. (it probably wouldnt have worked anyhow)

also if america is now openly disagreeing with israels policy in certain cases, how just could what they re doing currntly be.
