d-bol and anxiety

Dbol = anxiety for me, i just stuck with it though since it did not make my heart race or anything just anger and shit:mad:

I'm on the Thai pinkys and no anxiety for me. Just very pumped and a lil tired throughout the day.

I recently posted the abstract below in response to a reader's question regarding combining steroids and SSRI antidepressants. Low levels of serotonin have been implicated in anxiety disorders as well as depression. Moreover, numerous studies have implicated low serotonin levels in violent, antisocial behavior, aggression, and impulsiveness.

The abstract shows that certain anabolic steroids increase the metabolism of serotinin, leading to low levels of serotonin in the body. This could be responsible for the anxiety felt by many steroid users, as well as for "roid rage" ( I personally think that a jerk will remain a jerk, and a mellow person will remain mellow on steroids.) It is particularly interesting that anadrol was the only agent to raise monamine oxidase levels. This is a key enzyme responsible for metabolizing serotonin. Anandrol is notorious for increasing aggression.

Increased dopaminergic and 5-hydroxytryptaminergic activities in male rat brain following long-term treatment with anabolic androgenic steroids.

Thiblin I, Finn A, Ross SB, Stenfors C.

Department of Forensic Medicine, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.

1. The effects of treating groups of rats with four different anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) (testosterone, nandrolone methandrostenolone, and oxymetholone) on 5hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and dopamine (DA) neurones in different brain regions were examined. The AAS was injected six times with 1 week's interval and the rats were sacrificed 2 days after the final injection. 5-HT and its metabolite 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), DA and its metabolites 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) and homovanillic acid (HVA) were measured. The effect on DA and 5-HT synthesis rate was analysed as the accumulation of 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-alanine (DOPA) and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), respectively, after inhibition of the amino acid
decarboxylase with NSD-1015 (3-hydroxy-benzylhydrazine dihydrochloride). Additionally, the monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity was analysed in the hypothalamus. 2. The DOPAC + HVA/DA ratio was increased in the striatum in all treatment groups. However, the synthesis rate of DA was significantly increased only in the methandrostenolone treated group. 3. The 5-HIAA/5-HT ratio was increased in all treatment groups in the hippocampus, in the frontal cortex in the methandrostenolone-treated animals and in the hypothalamus in the testosterone- and oxymetholone-treated rats, while the 5-HT synthesis rate was not affected by the AAS-treatments. 4. The MAO-A activity was increased in the oxymetholone-treated rats while the other treatment groups were unaffected. The MAO-B activity was not changed. 5. The results indicate that relatively high doses of AAS increase dopaminergic and 5-hydroxytryptaminergic metabolism in male rat brain, probably due to enhanced turnover in these monaminergic systems.

After a lot of research and feedback, I decided to ditch the pinkies and go with russian dbol for this cycle.

If I spread out the 25mg dose through the day, I don't get any anxiety. Just a general feeling of calm and well being.

Don't know if it's the formula (lack of antihistamine?) or what.

beats me..russians are methandrostenolone, and the pinks are methandienone, could be the same shit, but one might be slightly different, i dont know..however, i had the pinks tested, 3.7mg each tab with no histamine or anit-histamine at all..and I CANT BELIEVE i took 4 of them per day, sometimes 6, and only 3.7mg, i added over 50 pounds to my bench in just 2 weeks..im off them now, dying to get back on them though, i will in 2 weeks, either the pinks or the naps..but if i do try the naps, they better work the same as the pinks in terms of size and strength..

Nandi,

Don't get me wrong bro, I agree with you and respect your posting/info. I understand the study posted, but you stated in another post that test caused the least anxiety for you and that dbol or anadrol cause the worst. How can Dbol cause the worst anxiety if above study clearly states,

"However, the synthesis rate of DA was significantly increased only in the methandrostenolone treated group. .."

Wouldn't that decrease anxiety? Can you please elaborate on that? Thanks in advance!!

Your question is a good one and shows that you studied the problem carefully and gave it a lot of thought.

The article emphasizes that steriods increase the metabolic turnover of dopamine and serotonin. While it is true that according to this study, dopamine synthesis rate increased with dbol, the ratio of the metabolites DOPAC+HVA to DA also rose, showing that DA was still being degraded faster than it was accumulating.

Serotonin turnover was also increased in all cases. and may be a more important factor than dopamine in anxiety (as witnessed by the dramatic success in SSRI treatment of anxiety and depression). In animal studies I have seen, for example, dopamine reuptake inhibitors showed no anxiolytic efect, while SSRI's did. [ see (1) for example]. On the other hand, Parkinson's patients commonly show signs of anxiety and/or depression.

One popular theory on addiction focuses on a chronically underactive dopaminergic system; I wonder if maybe there is something to the idea that steroids could be addictive, based on lower dopamine levels.

I hope this helped to clarify things.

I get anxiety from the d-bol as well. Try taking some kava ....as this will calm you down a bit. I can only go maybe three weeks on the stuff.
