Creatine, cycling good or bad?

If you go to PubMed or The Journal of Applied Physiology, you will find more recent studies (actual abstracts, not articles), that show no difference from phasic intake.

Of course, that's just on paper. I would do whatever works. Just make sure your results aren't psychosomatic at the expense of your pocket book. :)

...and thank you (re: the record). It's pretty easy to set records when there aren't any. lol

While creatine is natually occuring in your body, your gains WILL be become few and far between after several months of use. I have had personally experience with this. Most BB's or Powerlifters that use it will tell you to cycle. I do a 3 month on, 1 month off basis and it works great. I can tell that I run out of gas a little early within the first week or so of coming off but everything is back to normal in a couple of weeks and making gains on my own. Then when I start back on the gains come QUICK.

Think of creatine as you would your routine. Your body will learn it, and gains will be scarce. Change it up, and your gains will continue to flourish.

Studies? Show me studies that say Creatine continues to give the same results at 1 yr, that it does in 2 months..There is no such thing unless your MuscleTech ;)

:lmao:

I don't think anyone was debating that point, but if they were Muscle Tech would win.

I've generally thought that there isn't a significant difference between cyclin creatine and not, but Prime Rib said it in an interesting manner.

What i learned from Sports Restoration and Massage is that with any restoration measure whether massage, showers, vitamin preparations, etc your body will in essence adapt to the specific restoration measure. If you look at creatine in that light, then your marginal benefits of creatine will go to nill after a while, whereas you could take it for a while then stop for a while, 1month +, and then reintroduce your self to it later.

My personal experience has suggested to me that I should cycle. I'm sure it varies from person to person. Generally, I find that in the first 2 weeks of taking it I don't get much of a benefit, then I start to see a difference for 3-5 weeks after that and then my body starts to adjust and I stop seeing gains.

I find that 2 months-3 months on and 1.5-2 months on is good. It also depends on what type of creatine you use (and hell, some people don't even respond well to creatine)

With Cell-Tech, however, I packed on 55 pounds of rock hard muscle in 4 weeks and my penis grew by 6 inches.

Wow. Cycling creatine... its food. Do you cycle your steaks? Beef has alot of creatine in it. In fact, I think on my current meat intake I get ALOT more than 5 grams a day. Actually around 20. Hope I don't downregulate my creatine receptors.

then of course there's this....
