Cottage Cheese

I eat low fat, low sodium cottage cheese at least once a day for one of my 6 meals. As we all know, any form of dairy can cause bloating do to the lactose. But a lot of diets, incuding EAS, and Dr. Scott Conelly of Metrx, all incorporate cottage cheese as well. Do you guys think that it's posible that it may not cause one to hold water? I really don't get to bloated from it. What about you guys?
 
there isnt that much lactose in cottage cheese compared to milk. eat cottage cheese right before bed because caesin protein breaks down the slowest of any protein. ive found cottage cheese to be a great food while cutting.
 
unless you are lactose intolerant there is no problem (bloating) with cottage cheese
 
Thanks for the feed back fellas. So I guess it's cool for staying lean, but as far as contest prep, I personally would probably cut it from my diet like two weeks out from show time.
 
I eat the 2% but isn't that a bit on the fat side? I tried the non fat but that stuff is bad, I cant find 1% :(
 
Matman ... I tried a couple of different brands. Friendship™ is the best by far. Try the lowfat version that comes in a pink and white contianer. If you are worried and sodium then get the "no added sodium" one that comes in red and white.
