Convinced this is a "Play Office"

The company mainly works with pre-existing pharma brand plans to put together web sites. If our strategist is lucky he's asked to contribute a web plan before the brand plan is submitted. I'll be really honest, our web designs are sub par and basically brochureware. The sites lack innovation and any real interactivity. It's difficult working in this type of environment when you're used to working with extremely talented, creative and innovative people.

The forum is the leading marketing literature for new-to-be-released drugs. It precedes the reps into the doctor's office, the TV ads, and all things pharma.

The role of the web in pharma marketing remains to be seen. Because target audiences are so narrow, putting the info out there for all to see is not beneficial.

I feel sorry for you. I am friendly with the publisher of the forum and I have seen phrma marketing done well. Hope things get better.

Thanks. I hope not to be in the web industry much longer. I would prefer to be a project manager in an industry with more structure.

like your own molecule or drug in a pharm type environrment? A bunch of reps working for you? Or just wherever - as long as it is well-run?

Mainly looking for a well-run, stable environment with more structure and much better pay. Pharma, software, architecture (usually need engineering degree though) is the direction I am heading. My MBA is on hold until I have a job paying what I used to make or the company pays for it. I'll probably concentrate on finance once I start up again. My undergrad is in marketing and operations mgmt and I wish I would have done finance instead of marketing. The web industry tends to have a very immature work environment... it's fun for awhile and then you realize it would be better to work with more mature people.

And how did a person seeking maturity land at EF?

Yea....it is good to be fun loving and impulsive when one can get away with it. :D

Are you in Colorado by any chance?

Nope, but I usually ski there once a year.

Are you good in the powder?

The first time in powder was strange... used to the ice covered mountains of the northeast. I got used to it quickly though. Now I try not to ski at home very often.
