a) Bust your ass and get awesome grades (A's)

b) Work hard and get good grades (A's and B's)

c) Do close to nothing and get above average grades (B's with some A's)

???

Why?

After another semester of doing jack shit in comparison to the worst underachiever and still getting B's, I often wonder if I'm doing the right thing. If I applied myself I could do so much better, but I don't see any reason to as my scholarship awards won't increase, I won't have any better of a chance to find a job in the real world, I won't get any more respect or admiration from anyone who matters to me, and quite frankly I would be screwing myself out of money because I won't be paid as much at work due to going to school so much.

So which is it... stay at school until 6:30pm and sleep 5 hrs a night to get a B+ or leave at 3:15pm and get 7-8 hrs to get a B-?

It is posts like this that remind me why I still haven't decided to go to grad school.

And that it it amazes me that adults still idolize cartoons.:)

Why haven't you decided to go to grad school beastboy?

btw: If more people idolized cartoons, the world would be a MUCH better place.

my buddy would smoke weed all the time while he studied. study for about an hour a week tops, and still get B's...so he thought if he quite smoking and studied more he would do better....well he tried it and he got 3 C's. i swear!, it was so funny.

I don't doubt it. I did better in my "Theory of Algorithms" class not showing up than I did in my "Logic for Computer Science" class and Algorithms was supposed to be harder.

I think it's because the professors teach so poorly that I get bored and I am unable to assimilate the information. Then, since I already went to class, I don't want to study, so I don't.

However, if I don't go to class, I have no problem skimming the book for less than an hour a week to see what I missed. Usually I'm able to teach myself everything the professor taught in much less time.

As a matter of fact, I taught myself the past 16 weeks of material for Theory of Algorithms in about 6 hours. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the kiddies who probably go to class every day studying their little hearts out before the test.

Just remembering all the time and energy school took/takes is exhausting. I also have a family, job, and business to run so I just don't have the time right now. I do though desire to go back for my MBA once things settle down for me.

Why go back to school when you have your own business?

If I ever went back to school after getting my B.S. it would only be after I retired and only to learn something as opposed to obtain some kind of degree. I'd probably take a course in a new language or brush up on my algebra or something. I reaaaaalllly don't want to see the inside of another classroom after this spring is over.

US universities are a joke.

The hardest part is getting accepted via the SAT and ACT.

That is why a 3.5GPA from a Canadian university is the equivalent of a 4.0GPA from an American university.
