New guy here with a question -
How in the hell do I get abs like that without spending a bunch of money on some program? Is this ginetics, or hours upon hours of nasty sit ups?

Another question, (I'm new, still learning the basics of lifting) -
I'm in great shape, but 've been trying to eat more protein to pack on the muscle, because my metabolism is crazy. How many grams of protien should I be taking daily? (Im 160 lbs, 5'11")

genetics, or chemicals.

either way your water retention/and bodyfat (~3-5%) has to be super low to be THAT shredded. but you can get decently shredded w/ decent genetics and determination.

and no situps won't do ANYTHING, 97% of ab visibility is related to bodyfat. abs are always going to be "there" even if undeveloped it's a question of bodyfat and water retention.

The actual shape of the muscle is determined by gentetics, but he has done a lot of work to gain the pop of the abs, by increasing the thickness. Abs get thicker like most muscles get bigger. And then he has a low BF%, so they are easy to see.
Don't waste your time on a program, just to a good workout that involves a lot of work on your core. Doing direct work would def help.

Bro seriously... eat six cans of SPAM A DAY... and then a couple more cans of SPAM before you go to bed at night... and you can look like an out of shape prick too. :)

They do look kind of fake in that pic but I think they're real. Dude's gotten pretty jacked over the last few years.

That was my first reaction too. But then I'll never be pretty so why try.
 
the west, thats Kobayashi, world record holder for hot dog eating contest. hes a professional eater.

Basically.

His name is Kobayashi (sp?) and he's been the dominant competitive eater for years. He won the Nathan's hot dog eating contest several years in a row and, for a while, nobody could even get close. An American kid beat him this year, though. He's not falling off or anything; he keeps beating his own records. The American kid just raised the bar a little bit higher.

lol i thought he had to be some kind of martial artist. that really is quite some achievement, being ripped to shreds AND being a champion professional eater. i mean its not like they're seeing who can eat the most lettuce is it?
 
they had a show about him on tv and it showed him training and he went to this noodle place in japan and if i remember correctly he ate this 10lb meal of noodles then had a giant ass snowcone that was flavored with like cayenne pepper or somthing.. and when i say giant i mean like a little bigger then a basketball

I'm not sure being ripped helps but, somewhere along the way, someone figured out that being skinny does. Apparently you can force a much greater amount of food into your stomach if it has room to expand. The big fattys that you would normally associate with competitive eating reach a point where they are hindered by their "fat belt". Almost all of the top eaters are skinny these days.

He has admitted that eating lots of cabbage is a primary part of his training as it expands the stomach. Cabbage is without a doubt, one of the best foods you can eat.
 
Great abs, i bench 315 for reps, dead 450 for reps, he"s thin because i took his lunch money(his shoes too) then left with his girlfriend so he had more time for situps.):)

I mean really this guy (Unless he"s 7ft tall) must wiegh a buck twenty and most. He probably fainted from the effort needed to pull up his shirt.

By looking at the pics 1999STL posted, he' easily over 120. his shoulders and arms look pretty thick(for how tall he is).

You call 160 lbs at 5'11" great shape? If you're in great shape already, why all the questions?
 
haha im 13 and in alright shape, (theres definately room for improvement though) your 5 inches taller than me and only 20lbs more but somehow your in great shape?

being in great shape doesn't mean you're huge. You can be 5'11 and 120 lbs and be in great shape.

being a former baseball player, I was in fantastic shape at 180-185. I'm now 215 with a lot more muscle and strength, but I am not even close to being as good of shape.

you sound a little bitter .. just cus you got ur lunch money and pro-wings taken (also boyfriend) doesn't mean everyone else did too :FRlol:
 
you don't have to be huge to be in great shape. and you don't have to be big to take someones lunch money either. there are alot of guys in the ufc that if you didnt know them alot of "big" guys would think they could take his lunch money and steal his girl, but they would be in for a rude awakening. you probably didn't mean it literally, i know, but fighting and working out are very different. and that dude looks pretty big in the 2nd picture anyway.
 
UFC is crazy. You look at half those guys and think you would beat them to a pulp, then you see them fight and thank your lucky stars its not you in the octagon.
