Ok, after doing a lot of research on the pros and cons of both desktops and laptops, this is what I decided on and bought for college.
Dell Inspiron 8100 Laptop
PIII
1.0 Ghz processor
20 gig
256mb sdram
32mb 4X NVDIA GeForce graphics card
8x dvd-rom drive
8x cd-rw
15" Super XGA TFT display
10/100+56k modem/ethernet card
Port Replicator(Docking Station)
For my desk in my dorm I bought the docking station and a keyboard and mouse. I also bought a 17" TFT Flat Panal monitor.
My school has there own network so I will be able to plug in and surf the Elite boards with lightning quick speed!
I'm pretty sure that I will be able to stay entertained with the dvd and graphics card. With all of the fun I will be having I don't know when I am going to find time to study.
