cardio and sweating

I have a friend who was a pro BB'er in the late 80's/early 90's and he never sweated a drop during any workout. He was just a freak though.

Genetics play a major role
It's obvious

But I also agree that your body "learns" to sweat more efficiently.... to protect itself I guess

jkurz - I just started using the elipical about a month ago and have worked myself up to 30 minutes and about 450 calories (or so the bogus computer reads)...I work up a real sweat...dripping quite profusely...after this I push out a 6 mph jog on the treadmill. Then I start my lift routine....soaking wet btw... :)

I hate most aerobics/cardio and only really do it out of guilt and/or necessity. I'm a big guy at 255lb and probably 13-15% bf....(wanting to get lower here...)...so the elipical 'feels' preety good to me and my taxed joints. I don't feel winded on the elipical like I do the treadmill, but I was under the assumption that being non-winded, might put be more into that 'fat-buring' zone...no?

Was wondering why you think the elipical is junk? No flame here...just wanted your opinion. Would I be better off using those 30 minutes of cardio somewhere else...

Brunette.....might try wearing some sweats or plastic suits if you desire to sweat more...

Ellipticals are not junk. In fact they are one of the best modes of cardio vascular exercise around. Whatever type of fitness equipment does the job for you is the one you should use, not what someone else tells you to.
