Warik you know my position on the woman who drowned her kids. Her husband NEW she was mentally ill YET HE DID NOTHING - HE FUCKING LEFT HER HOME ALONE TO DEAL WITH ALL OF THOSE CHILDREN - HIS CHILDREN!

Having been a stay-at-home mom with more than one kid I KNOW how mentally and emotionally draining this is. Add to it depression brought on by hormonal changes and finally a husband who could give a shit about YOU or THE KIDS and you are asking for a horror show. I am not saying that she should not be punished. But I think her husband should AT LEAST be made to pay for his role. She will be imprisoned in her own mind FOREVER. Killing that woman would be almost kind.

Whereas this was a couple that BOTH brutally murdered their children. They did it together and the only reason they could come up with was because they were too expensive?

Perhaps I am incorrect. But did the woman who drowned her children last year also say that she did it because they were "too expensive"?

I think the main problem with the modern day justice system is the effort to rehabilitate violent criminals. Did it ever occur to anybody that someone with the capacity for rehabilitation probably wouldn't murder or rape someone?

The secondary problem is with the insanity plea. Kill somebody and it's wrong, but kill somebody while insane and it's excusable? It would then logically follow that it is possible for sane people to commit murder. Since a sane person did it, it must be normal, so why is murder illegal? Duh.

It's clear that only people who are insane commit violent crimes, so why is insanity a get out of jail free card?

Although Mr. Yates did not have an active hand in the child murders, he is none the less just as guilty because he pointly turned his back on the scene and left her there knowing she was mentally unstable.
