Can someone run through my insulin regime

great thread, insulin is a topic that needs to be discussed in mad detail!!!!!!!


i am confused, say, cause it is legal, i am taking humalin-r, i take my 10 units of it, and then what?? i seem to get conflicting views........do you then consume a carb/glutamine/creatine drink 15 minutes later and then straight protein 30 minutes after that and then a meal an hour later??
or do you take a 100+ gram carb shake with 50 grams of protein 15 minutes later with some glutamine and creatine as well???? and then have a good meal an hour or so later???

it really should be simple, like just one way, and to make it easy can we please use humalin-r and not humalog cause humalin-r is legal and also that is what I am using:D

in terms of humalin-r and based on monsters primer, what is the set in stone way to do this?? is it take the shot, then take in the 10:1 ratio of carbs to units of insulin 15 minutes later, and is it ok to take protein with those carbs or should u wait till later so u can absorb the carbs??

man, i am confused, but cant wait to do slin, help.........:)


and i see in the first post in this thread iron game, u say after u take in ur MRP u are going to take in more carbs in a drink, what is that drink u are gonna take and why are u going to take it???

Ironmaster has given some good advice there. Start low as everbodys insulin sensitivity can be vastly different. Increas by just 1 unit each workout until you reach a level you feel safe with. 10iu is an average but I personally wouldn't go much higher. I found I couldn't go higher than 8 without feeling slight effects of hypo.
 
What needle do you use to administer Slin. Do you use pens where one click and its in? If so do you preload the pen with the required dosage first? What does slin come in, a multi vile?:p
 
Insulin believe it or not is best administered with insulin pins.
Any other type cannot give you an accurate reading.
Pens are available but they would come with that particular type of slin anyway, so if you have not got a pen, use insulin pins.
Slin usually comes in long thin multi vials of 1-3cc.

Before you use it please do some research or you will end up killing yourself.

Deppnade. Two main types of slin to use are humalog and humulin r. Humulin r is available otc in most States I believe although I cannot confirm that 100% because I dont know the law there. After reading in much detail I would say get hold of some humalog for more predictability. Ive been informed its available otc in Canada and you can get it in a pen for $17/300ius.

Depending on what slin you use, the timing is different but meal plans should look the same. Most people recommend carb/glutamine/creatine drink for the first meal and 10grams of carbs for every 1 iu that you shoot. Try not to add fat in to this meal because not only does fat reduce absorption time but also helps increase fat storage. Perhaps taking some t3 along with the slin will help.

Then a meal can be eaten containing both protein and carbs. Fat can be added but I personally will not for this meal.

It all comes down to personal preference and I yet cannot speak on that. Always have glucose tabs on hand as well as an emergency carb drink such as ultra fuel from TwinLabs. If you start sweating, feeling shakey and so on then down the drink.

Do not sleep after shooting or within a few hours of shooting humalog and longer with humulin r.

I'm glad you started this thread buddy, it has answered most of my questions and saved me some footwork. I didn't even think about the sleep issue. Looks like I need to hit the gym earlier. Later

when using humalin r, i take it in, and then drink the creatine glutamine and carb drink, and then have a real replacemnt powder 30 minutes later?? that sound right??

then another meal an hour later???


cause i figure i will take in those carbs/glut/creatine and then have a myoplex with some added protein, then dinner, that sound right??
