Brittneyleigh79s 2012 Transformation Competition Log

When my wife and I were recently engaged, we had a very similar accident, in the shower as well. I was lifting my knee up to scrub my feet and blammo..caught her in the eye. So 2 days later she looks like rocky balboa v/s apollo creed, we go to her families huge cook out, Im sure it was mostly paranoia but I felt like everyone was thinking I went domestic on her. We all laugh about it now.

Stick with those negs and partial reps, they WILL work! Believe me, when I was a boy I was terribly unfit, fat and not strong at all. I couldn't do a single press up let alone a pull up or chin up. I did negative reps super setted with partials, at the time I didn't know that lol! I just held on for dear life at the top and kept hanging on as I was dropping, when I was at the bottom I tried pulling myself up. I'd do that 3-5 times every other day. Got there in the end and I know you will too! Keep at it and keep KTS! :D

But you really are. On the negs, make each one misrable chika. Keep holding holding holding till you just cant hold any more then let yourself go down as slowly as you possibly can. Thats the negs.
And also fight those halfs just the same way. You are at war with these chika!

Do any of yall have problems dropping weight while on a cycle? I have been taking anavar at 10mg twice daily into week 7 and can't seem to make the scale drop any...actually I have put on about 3 pounds! This is really starting to piss me off! What gives?

I'm no expert but if I were to hazard a guess I'd say you'd put on muscle. Have you checked bf%? You'll prolly find its dropped considerably.
I was losing weight at a nice steady 0.5kg per week until last week when I found I'd put on 1.2kg but my bf% had dropped by 5 percentage points. So must've been lean gains. :)

Yeah Cs Is right chic. I'm afraid the scale is a waste of time while building muscle. As muscle density is bigger than fat so weighs more. I only use the scale I'm short spells like if I weigh on a Monday then on a fri when ive been doing cardio so there not much muscle added in a short period I never take the weight too seriously though. Fat callipers are the best way to measure bf% then you can work out from the you bmi.
Btw Your numbers are rolling in looking amazing chic. Good call on the front squat. ;)
 
CS I haven't gotten my bf% checked but I need to! It just gets to you when you are doing good for so long and see nothing in terms of weightloss. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone!!

Yeah it's very helpful I find. I have bi monthly assessments on bf% BP, HR, lung capacity etc. it shows the little improvements that you don't usually notice. :)

and i agree with the others, forget the scale... the mirror works much better, but if you arent already, you can take a quick pick every day to see the progression... i havent done it myself but ive been thinking about it...

Okay guys and girls this might seem like a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyways. Since my schedule for work is 4pm to 4am and I will be waking up at 10:30-11:30am and not going to sleep till 5am. What day should I log my calories for snacks that are from 12am-to bed time at 5am?

Do you take casein ? That's great for long slow release protein source ESP over night. It's releases over up to 6 hours so drip feeds protein Nd Aminos makes you feel full up , if I do a long shit at wrk when I can't eat I also take some then.

Thanks Donna you are by far my favorite person on EF! I always read your thread before I read mine to see how your doing lol!

I note all my food down, I just don't know what day I should log it on. I guess I am try to ask should I consider my daily calories to end at midnight or when I go to sleep? Nights suck so bad!! And yes Donna I usually take casein but sometimes I might eat some almonds or some other healthy nutritious snack! Currently I am eating .5cup of non fat cottage cheese at 2:35am lol! Gotta love the world of body building!!

I know where your coming from. I usually track mine from when I wake up til I go to bed which is usually waking up at 5-6 pm with hitting the gym when I get off work at 730 am, then post workout shake and sleep around 930 am. A couple days a week I get off at 11 am or 3 pm so it becomes a lot more complex. Well I don't I'm being of much help here. Lifts are very impressive by the way and yeah nights do such.

Most of the men I work with are over 250lbs and less muscle than I have lol!! I say good job to us, because I know we are a dying breed!!

Most of the men I work with are over 250lbs and less muscle than I have lol!! I say good job to us, because I know we are a dying breed!!

They take the mickey (tease/make fun) when I injure myself and need a day off but one of them's been off for nearly 4 months now with a "bad back" I don't have an ounce of sympathy. If he'd taken his idle self to the gym a few times a week over the past 20 years he wouldn't have a problem! I've had plenty of problems with my lower back over the years and I've found nothing beats some good ole deadlifts to keep it strong and healthy!

Completely agree. I have a bad back and was getting chiropractic done and doing that along with deadlifts I found that it helped things a lot. Haven't been to chiropractor in a while so pretty happy. I should go again though just for a check up as I have some pain as of late but I I feel that it was bound to happen eventually.

With your years of lifting tho I am truely concerned about your leg extensions.....ok I know and nuff said, I promise this is the last time. But...we only get one set of knees sista and they have to last us our whole life. From all my research the artificial ones at best are a very poor substitute.
Drop the leg extensions completly. For you your sake do this.

The tremble and wobble are normal because your stabilizers for them are weak. Once you start doing them, like anything, they will get stronger and the trembles and wobbles will go away...well while doing your exercise anyhow, you will probably tremble and wobble as you walk out of the gym :evil: :D
 
Brittany are you doing front squats with the clean grip or the crossed arm grip I've tried to do them before and it is awkward for me to say the least but after reading this I may wanna try them again. Most ppl I see used the cross arm grip thats the one I first used but I think I'm gonna try them with the clean style. Just looking for some feedback maybe zed will comment also

When I first started doing Ft Squats I used the cross arm grip and always had problems with the dam bar falling forward.
So then I tried the clean grip. NOT!
Now I use my lifting straps looped around the bar and love it. If you have trouble picturine this let me know and I will put up link here in Britts log for you all.
 
I cross my arms but to prevent the bar from rolling what I do is raise my elbows up as I squat down. For me the clean hand position is very uncomfortable and painful on the wrists.

This is how I front squat as well. Clean grip hurts my wrists something fierce. I might have to try the reverse clean grip Moya mentioned. Also I can't bring up my elbows enough on regular clean it seems, my arms seem to bulgy or something. I need to work on my flexibility probably.
 
Very interested in what zedhed is describing . Clean grip kills my wrists and arm crossed is ok but my collar bone gets really sore and bruised . :/ and after reading all the opinions on leg extensions I'd rather stick to squats :) lol
 
I do the reverse clean grip like Moya is talking about. The weights stays in place for me very well!

Oh another note...started feeling terrible last night and woke up this morning to a swollen lymph nodes, can't swallow, horrible pain in my throat, and what seems like an ear infection!! So I didn't make it today for chest and tris :-(! Of course I have to be at work in the elements and feel like shit!!! This sucks balls!!

One other grip that I have used and like is to grip the bar just like your gonna do curls. For me I keep my hands inside of my shoulders for this one. But still prefer the straps method. I think its better for elbows and wrists overall for me.

Oh I just don't drink. It brings out the bad in me, but when I did it was vodka or red wine.
I could never drink that peach stuff lol I think it smells like air fresher lol
