Boston..

i'd be butthurt too if my team was known for blowing 20pt leads in the 2nd half, what was Pierce, 1-11 in the 4th?

Celts lost the game in the 3rd, didn't even lead the final 10 minutes, lost by 8

Bos had their only chance to take one in Cle and they blew it. Cavs played like trash, next game will be a blowout. If they take one in Boston, this series won't even go 6

More people in Boston are worried about the 3rd place sucking Red Sox than the Celtics Brah, then the Patriots, then the Bruins.

I mean don't get me wrong, there are some DIE HARD C's fans, but they're more than 100 to 1.
People here would rather discuss the Pats draft or the Red Sox being teh suck on sports radio then the B's or C's in the second rd of the playoffs lolo.

Basketball isn't a bad sport it's just not what I grew up watching. I still like it and watch some of it.
It's just such a specialist game now, where it use to be more of a team oriented game.
Just my 2 cents

The Cavs is all you guys have or have had, so it's different for you Cleveland noobs. The Celtics lose, most people around here won't be suprised nor upset unfortunally.

Sounds more or less like typical Bandwaggon fans hopping off the train in Boston

lol@ the Cavs being important in Cleveland before Lebron came
On top of it, there is no bandwagon.
Did you read my post? This is a Pats/Sox town

Cle is a Browns + Tribe town over Cavs. You know i'm a diehard Browns fan, they never had a Lebron, or a winning playoff run since I was born, i've never rooted for another cities club

Your city was lit up in 08 over that trade and the LA/Bos rivalry, most winning'est team in NBA history, one of the top 3 NBA franchizes, hysterical you're trying to speak for city in saying "we don't care" lol that's hilarious.

ps. I know this is you way of throwin in the towel and it's weak

That's actually a very bandwagon comment. It was a Celts town when we were growing up (and Bruins). So, what you're saying is that the "it's a XXXXX town" changes depending on who is winning at the time.

Yea I recall in the 80's it definetely was a Celts town.

they better find a way to slow down rondo.. dood went apeshit on mo williams

LOL @ next game being a blow out. Boston split the season series, and if you think they are gonna lay down you are way off base. As I said, series is going to 7.

STFU and count your blessings you aren't down 0-2 after playing 2 on your own home court. Boston can match up against Cleveland. They proved it in the regular season, and they proved it on your court. Lebron is the MVP. Mo Williams is a bitch (didn't hear that godfather tune once), and Jamison is at best a third fiddle.

go celtics. used to be a boston boy. grew up watching walker and peirce when they were rookies. dana barros was my man back then

yeah boooooy, the Walker wiggle
Barros was a home town guy, everyone loved him
I watched those teams 10X more than I watch now
I just can't get back into NBA, every year the guys seem to get more and more selfish and the game is so f--n meh

stfu you inbred yanks/celtic fan lol...WTF is that? talk about bandwagoning off dynasties.
Yes it WAS a Celtics town and a B's town, but when one team goes in 35+ yr drought and the other one is mediocre to bad for what? 25 yrs?
The Red Sox have been Beantowns team since 67'

even steven heading into boston.. people wrote boston off way to early !!

if garnett didnt get hurt last year they would have went to the championship game last year again .. which would have been back to back

i agree. i've said it all season that lebron's supporting cast is garbage when it comes down to it (even after the jamison trade).

Varajaeo, big z? Garbage. One is an overpaid role player/sideshow bob clone with no basketball skills and the other is a really old, and often injured 7 footer with no lateral movement or defensive presence.

a 1000 year old shaq? garbage...

Jamison is about to turn 34 and has never been a winner. he was one of the most invisible players ever to average about 20/10 (i think he did it once or twice, but usually close to that).

Mo williams sucks. I never believed this guy as legit. he's not a real point guard and he was a decent player on a really bad team (the bucks at the time).he proved he's worthless in the playoffs last year, and so far this year as rondo has carved him up.

There's not 1 guy besides lebron that you can look at and confidently name them a legitimate #2 option or the guy who can hit the big shots when lebron isn't. the supporting cast is comprised of a bunch of damaged, and unwanted spare parts. Not to mention their coach is an ass clown.
Why they wouldn't go after a premier talent head coach instead of Lovie Smith w/ glasses is beyond me.
Had they gotten amare, my sentiments would be different.

Lebron is the best player in the league, hands down. but when you look at the lakers (who have been sleeping), orlando and boston they have reliable players (including legit 2nd options) and depth.

but lebrons elbow is clearly a factor. you wonder if the rest will help at all or it's an injury he'd need to sit out a couple of weeks for to be fully functional

This is going to be a tough series if Lebron can't take his normal shot load. There is definitely something wrong with the boy. If he can't spread the court with his long range jumpers they're just going to crowd the box and tell him come on in and get you some big boy. Cleveland can't win that way. Defensively though they took the last game off. Garbage. Boston wasn't doing anything different offensively, they just decided they didn't have to play hard.

yes sir correct statments
rondo is destroying mo williams
garnett is owning jamison

the big 3 for boston are slowing falling off a bit but rondo is so much better then years before it is evening it out for them

gee that whole essay and they somehow managed to have the best record in the league

that's cute

somehow garbage Varajao with no basketball skills was just awarded 2nd all-team defense and runner up in 6th man of the year... gee jolly wiz garbage

that means a whole lot now, doesn't it?

just like it meant a lot to 60 win dallas team when they lost to a barely .500 golden state in the first round a few years ago?

or the like the lakers during the shaq-kobe championship years who lolly gagged through the regular season every single year then shifted gears in the playoffs?

you and i both know that no one gives a fuck about the regular season at the end of the day. You think the mavericks are clapping that they win 50+ games every single year but always get bounced early? or phoenix winning 60 games 3 times when they had marion/amare/nash?

or as NFL example, the colts aside from 2006?

if anything, i'm giving credit to lebron for making those scrubs look good. im sure varajeo is gonna be a stud if lebron bolts lol. I guess you'll find that out considering the guy is gonna be making 8-9 mil a year for half the decade.

i'd love to see you post your little cute essay on a NBA forum, you'd get laughed at and most likely banned on spot for trolling

Not last series did he post, not game one of this series did he post but finally Cavs lose one and this guy comes with a "I told you so, -enter a bunch of desperate biased I hope LBJ comes to Knicks this is why- Cavs are overrated".... laughable

You'll go ghost again when Cavs win the next, and the next, and the next, and the next, then reappear when they lose one. It's the same desperate Knick fan cycle (for the past 3yrs)

ignoring the facts and somehow adverting to a completely irrelevant point.

good talk

was there even a subliminal reference to the knicks? i didn't even as much allude to them. but i always pretty much expect regardless of what i type no matter how objective in reference to the cavs, that it'll elicit a "and you think the knicks are better?" type of comment from you.

you're just too much of a homer to realize that i'm right, especially if you think that team is going to win both games in boston with a 1 armed lebron.

on a side note, i find it hilarious that everytime lebron james talks about Ohio, he only mentions Akron and never cleveland. He talks about how much he loves "Akron" and no matter where he goes he'll always rep it.

Some people will try to say it's a suburb and he basically means cleveland, but that's like saying if you're from Poughkeepsie, you're from New York City.

ignoring facts? News flash, you post opinions, have any facts like statistics to back your posts? You don't because they all point the Cavs way, all season, all playoffs long.. Until last game, where you finally post. lol. Your opinion consists of one game, fact

Let's see how oh so "right" you are enough to put your money where your keystrokes are. I'll bet you $100 flat Cavs win this series - if the Cavs win this series - i'll bet you another $100 they win the Conference Finals - if the Cavs win that series - i'll bet you another $100 the Cavs will win in the Finals. Still feel confident? You post biased nonsense for shock value that isn't even worth entertaining, lets see how much weight your word holds

dont even have to go that far back.. cavs has the best record in the nba during regular season last year and lost to the magic in the eastern conf finals.. they had like 12 more wins then the magic in the regular season and the magic dominated them

Poor Cleveland fans. They know this is the last shot. Bron Bron is going bye bye, no matter what happens this season. I'd like to see him and Wade end up together.

wade bron and bosh should all sign 1-3 year contracts for the nets and just dominate, then move to a new team.

?????????????????

i'm really getting tired of the NBA playoff system. if a series goes 7 games it shouldn't take a month to play. that said the extra rest definitely helps the celtics with their age, then again it helps lebron heal up that elbow.

whats your take on the elbow lambruh? as a cle fan im sure you are more up to date on it than i am. i've just heard tons of speculation going both ways. last i knew it was only a sprain/bruise, but it seems like there's more to it.

?????????????????

you really want to do this?

i'm chopping at the bit but figured the loss itself would be hard enough.

it's on EF for everyone to see so this thread can get bumped for eternity.

i bet $100 that the celtics win this series.

in the unlikely 10% chance i lose...i'll be happy to send you the money immediately after the series. which you'd probably have for about a week and a half until they lost to the magic.

again, not likely they make it that far but not impossible. i'll play the odds on this one.

lebron better have some voodoo healing on his elbow

Good... And correct me if i'm wrong

You're saying you're betting $100 against the Cavs in every series they play correct? Or just this series?

Or just this series?

correct.

this series and any remaining series they may play in for the rest of the 2010 playoffs.

i'll have no problem ponying up, with EF as a witness, if i'm wrong. But i don't see it happening.

Beat the celtics? Very unlikely, but maybe.
beat the magic? not a chance

the woodwork called, they said don't come back.

roflmao

I switched to the game in the 3rd qtr as I was watching the Bruins and saw they were getting smoked. Could be a see saw series with cleveland winning. Who friggan knows... well except for Borris who's never wrong lol

gotta give credit when its due... cavs smacked the shit out the celts last night .. game was over in the 1st qtr !

I can assure you CW will see every dollar immediatly if the Cavs lose, I'm good for my word and I know he is to.

Bos had their only chance to take one in Cle and they blew it. Cavs played like trash, next game will be a blowout. If they take one in Boston, this series won't even go 6

ouch Borris
very ouch

I respect Lebron for not making his elbow an excuse, but c'mon...dude hesitates on every wide open jumper. And when he does take em they look european d league.

jinxed us, pulled a cw and now he's makin money off his own classics.. genius

edit: wtf i can't edit first post.. damnit

jamison is really hurting the cavs he aint doing shit on offense and he defense always was shit..

Even though i'm a diehard cavaliers fan lambruh, I agree with cw on many different things.

PG - Mo williams is an overrated inconsistent player.... He's a horrible playoff player as well. He reminds me as larry hughes since some games he can show up and get 40pts and others he goes 1-9. In my opinion, even Boobie Gibson could do a better job (remember him in the playoffs two years ago).
Now look at rondo. He has an all-star cast, and he's faster than anyone on the cavs except maybe lebron (it's debatable). He is hitting everything he shoots now, and at this rate he will be one of the best (if not best) point guard of this era.

Edge - Celts

SG - Anthony Parker is a great defense player, but there isn't a way in hell he can keep up with Ray Allen. Ray is a better shooter and a better defender. Hell, Tony Allen even owned Parker.... Delonte West would match up better starting SG in my opinion. Edge - Celts

SF - Paul Pierce is a consistent player. Lebron James is the reigning MVP. Lebron's elbow is acting up and he doesn't have the skill of playing great when he's hurt (he's not kobe). He has to prove he's a clutch player and that he can make things happen and win the big games (like kobe can).

Edge - Cavs

PF - The Cavs have much more depth with Jamison, Hickson, Powe, and Varejo, but the Celtics prove that Quality overrides Quantity. Garnett is a beast and he can drain much more jumpers than any of the cavs cast. Glen Davis and Rasheed Wallace have outplayed all of the cavs PF's.

Edge - Celts

C - The Shaqtus has proven he is still a force to be reckoned with. He has been dominating and has been the only real consistent cavalier. Z has played hard the short time he has been in. Kendrick Perkins has gotten into way too much foul trouble and is overmatched against O'Neal. Look for the Cavs to dominate this position.

Edge - Cavs

Bench - Tony Allen, Glen Davis, and Wallace have all been superb. Cavs - west has been inconsistent, Varejo is a hustler, but has the worst shot in the NBA, Jamario Moon, Boobie Gibson and J.J. Hickson don't get enough playing time.

Edge - Celts

The cavs can win the next two days, but they will need a shitload of hard work and a lot of luck to do it.

all else was expected.. celts not only outplaying the but killing them at PG and PF has been the differnce

pg has been so loopsided it discusting

lets not forget lebron is suppose to be the best player in the nba also..so him being so much better then everyone else on the court is suppose to make up for celts winning the battle at other positions

how does that even make sense?

You can stop 1 player by denying him the ball or making him give up the ball. The celtics have multiple guys who can bring it at any given time. You can't just focus on 1 guy. That's the thing the cavs truly lack. Their roster is fine for the regular season when not everyone is playing as hard and there's not as much pressure on the supporting cast, but when you play the best teams in the playoffs and they have opportunities to exploit matchups...that's where the cavs get pwned.

if you were being sarcastic, my bad. i couldn't tell if you were, so i just took it literally

mo williams and jamison are recent all-stars, so it isnt suppose to be this loop-sided.. if 1 of these guys showed up..series probably is different

mo williams making the all star team is like when Jamal Magloire made it a few years back. It was a joke. Mo williams had trouble keeping a starting point guard job on a bad milwaukee team. he was never the answer.

Jamison's peak of his career was that he alternated between a 2nd/3rd fiddle on a team that made the playoffs a couple of times but always lost in the first round. He still had a little athleticism back then too.

Both have been bums in the playoffs.

That's a far stretch from countless all star selections from each of the big 3, with championship experience and leadership qualities. Even if they're on the backside of the career, they're still way better than those guys. Then you factor in rondo and guys like Glen Davis and Tony Allen who have proven they can step up and give a lift off the bench, and it's really a no brainer.

It's insane that it took this long to expose the cavs weaknesses, but i'm just glad it happened. I was getting sick of arguing with people all season (like some of my friends) that said that james had a good supporting cast now and they have the best record blah blah blah.

Look at the magic, the celtics and the lakers. Kobe has Gasol, odom and artest. Mentally tough veterans that can pick up the slack. Howard has rashard lewis and jameer nelson..carter is there too but he kinda sucks in the playoffs. The cavs have...slow down the entire game shaq, mo brick williams, and i only love to play on bad teams Jamison.

Anytime you have anthony parker and post-2005 shaq in your starting lineup, you're not that good.

is it just me or does anyone else think the cavs offense flows a little better with Z there? He gets to the pick spots faster and cleaner and then recovers better. Seems we also rebound better when Z and varajao then with shaq and varajao. I'm still at a loss for how 6 foot point guards sneak into the redwood forest and grab offensive boards from the cavs. Offensively it's a wash but it just seems like at least the defense side of the ball runs much better with Z. When they brought shaq in I thought it was with the understanding that he would be splitting equal time with Z so both of em can stay fresh and play at a higher intensity level. Last night was the first time Z was on the floor for more than 2 minutes for the entire playoffs. WTF? I'd like to say that's on Brown but something tells me Lebron told him to give shaq a big playoff run. Hows that working out? I'll give the dude credit he lost alot of weight but he still can't sustain the workhorse role.

LMAO @ cw still arguing that Lebron is god and has NO HELP and that he will single handedly SAVE New York Knickerbockers! Oh boy...Lebron, Bosh, Dwade and a couple more additions and the Knicks are gold! Right CW?! :-)

is it just me or does anyone else think the cavs offense flows a little better with Z there? I'll give the dude credit he lost alot of weight but he still can't sustain the workhorse role.
i can't remember who it was, but i made a comment during the regular season that i thought shaq was going to be terrible for them because he slowed down the pace. they responded by saying it was ridiculous to think that. cavs record w/o shaq? 21-4.

not that Z is speedy by any means, but they are better with out him.

omfg lol, I read right through it too, he's setting himself up in case tickle me Bron comes to NY (he'd be dumb not to, but personally I'd go to the Brooklyn Nets if I was him. The Knicks? That's like selling your soul and career.
Defending Dan Marinos 20+ yr career saying he never had a team around him. That is the biggest bullshit myth I've always heard.
The early 84-88 teams had Clayton and Duper, then friggan Irving Fryar, Parmalee, Jackson and Byars at TE/FB. Then in the early 90's they were pwned in the playoffs to Buffalo almost all four years.
Then in the mid 90's he was pwned with Jimmy Johnson as coach by a meh coached Bill Parcells/ Drew Bledsoe Patriots team.
Dan Mario having no players = complete myth if you really look into it

mo williams making the all star team is like when Jamal Magloire made it a few years back.

Anytime you have anthony parker and post-2005 shaq in your starting lineup, you're not that good.
haha yea ..well they cavs supporting cast put up good regular season numbers
they are getting exposed as mirage numbers so far and getting dominated
nobody can say otherwise
series aint over yet though..lets see if cleveland got some heart

lol @ you talking about basketball. you can't even name more than 30 nba players without the use of the internet. you're like the bill walton of this board

you're the backtracking bandwagoning asshole who just tried to pretend like boston doesn't care about the celtics and was never a celtics town. now you want to talk about basketball? Nice. Stick to the patriots, at least you have a clue there. Lebron would never think about coming to NY if they didn't have room to get another max free agent. Lebron, bosh, gallinari and whoever they can trade eddy fatburger's expiring contract for (or sign the next year with the capspace). That's another 10 mil to play with once that tub of lard is off the books.sounds like a pretty good team and supporting cast to me if that happens.

far as the dolphins go...did you seriously just throw bernie parmalee out there? and irving fryer wasn't all that for the dolphins...only played a few seasons there closer to the backend of both his and marino's career. Clayton i'll give you, and duper had some great years. but the defense sucked balls in the 80's

But where was the running game for...i don't know, 17 years?
And miami didn't really become a decent defensive team till closer to the mid to late 90's. He had some players here on his side of the ball here and there, but he never had that somewhat complete team to take him over the top.

he had more then pippen.

yeah, no doubt. horace grant was key during the first 3 peat. BJ armstrong was "ok". their centers were always incredibly crappy, but they had role players that could do just enough when jordan and pippen weren't scoring. You had guys like Steve Kerr and paxson who weren't very good, but could hit the 3 and hit big shots when they needed it. Then when they got rodman and kukoc during the 2nd 3-peat, it was all over. teams didn't stand a chance

But role players are easy to find. 1 MVP player and a legitimate perrenial all star next to them are the key to an nba championship.

Isiah and joe dumars
Jordan and pippen
Hakeem and Clyde
Duncan and Robinson, then later Duncan /parker/ ginobilli
Kobe and Shaq
Kobe and Gasol

Then you had teams like the celtics and pistons with at least 3 legit all stars to compensate for the lack of that 1 dominant MVP type player.

the formula is obvious. and it's been proven time and time again. Hakeem was the exception in 94, but his role players stepped big time and played way above their heads. And they wouldn't even have won that series if john starks didn't go 3-800 from the field in game 6 of the finals.

lebron aint no kobe in the playoffs!great player who dont shine when it matters most

his cast isnt that great but 9 turnovers tonight, 8 for 21 from the field?pure trash game

last 2 games he played like shit when it mattered most now he can pack his bags .. see ya!

this one hurts worse than any Tribe choke in the 90's, I seriously feel like my gf cheated on me with a black dude

and now to rub it in I get to hear about this Lebron free agency for the next 3 months, might as well show highlights of a 14 inch purple dick hoisting my gf on Sportscenter all summer long to.

Simply unbelievable how I read this same book over and over thinking the endings going to change and continue to have so much passion behind my cities teams each yr. I love sports so much but it's just unneeded stress anymore, I need to start watching games as entertainment rather than connecting with this much passion and heart. I follow the Cavs and Browns way beyond normal fan'ism, recruiting, drafting, summer camp, trade rumors, beat writers, every day in the newspaper Brian Windhorst, u name it. Regardless of wasting $3000 on splitting season tix or the hundreds spend on gas, brew, parking at the games, it's just not worth the time anymore. Just no hope anymore, i've never felt so shitty over some so always inevitable

lebron to the knicks! yea !
yay................................................................................................................................................................................................

lebron to the knicks and 20mil for mitch.
0 k for me....

merry christmas/

CELTICS!!

Lebron put up a great game.. the supporting cast = nothing. When your star player puts up a triple double and you still only manage 85 points you know something is wrong.

LMAO @ the first half of this

I'm sure if you write Lebron a letter he won't leave for the opportunity to play with Bosh or DWade.. you will just have to promise to stop wasting your cap space overpaying marginal players.

I hear ya bro, what took me to calm down was a ring or two, but now that it's been done the luster and the drive is gone. I miss those days of thinking my 98-03 Red Sox were gonna somehow overtake that Yankee team for the division.
It's like banging the hottest girl in the world in Boston, she won't leave you alone and you're just like "meh"
Don't ever give up your passion for sports, just be a bit more humble and try not to always put the cart before the horse.

Never said it didn't useto be a Celtics town bro. Never did
I'm saying now it's Pats/SOX a/b b/a depends on the person then a Celtics 3rd, then B's 4th and there is a vast diffference between 1&2 to 3&4 now
The late 60's through 92 it was a B's / Celtics town, now it's not. Kill me for telling you how it goes up here.:whatever:

You sound like every Marino every other apologist, he never won the big one and it was NEVER his fault. I'm sorry I forgot all those teams to win a SB recently were so stacked top to bottom with their rosters (sarcasm)
agree to disagree with Marino.

BTW don't call me a back tracking bandwagon asshole, that sounds like you're extremely bitter. I fvcking heart you and that butt hurt me like Borris' GF getting the purple dong hoisted in her on the sports center highlight rundown.

I'm glad Cleve lost. The media is full of shit always saying Lebron is best player in the world, BS!, Kobe is by far! All the great ones (MJ, Bird, Magic) were great closers something Lebron isn't. Kobe is the best player in the game.I don't care how many triple doubles you have if you don't take over the end of the game your worthless. That's exactly what kobe does, he thrives on having the ball when it counts Lebron don't. That's why crown LA champs again. The triple doubles tell me he's selfish during most of the game then hides like a bitch when it counts unlike KOBE!

Get real dude. Kobe didn't win shit without shaq until they got assraped memphis for Gasol. The lakers are fuckin stacked. THAT'S why they might win the championship again. My money is on orlando though. They have that aura and killer instinct of a champion.

However, I do agree that kobe is a better/more clutch player for the moment. I think lebron is more talented, but there are a few elements why kobe is a better leader. As much I hate that douchebag fuck, he is definitely a closer and clutch as it gets. He seems to live for those moments. He also manages to play at a high level despite injuries. This is the first time lebron has ever had to play with some type of even semi significant injury. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if kobe cried or overexaggerated about certain injuries to make himself look like a hero...but there were a few like his fucked up finger on his shooting hand a couple of years back that were impossible to overdramatize.

That said though, Kobe has had a helluva a lot more time in the NBA and has benefited from playing with some great players to alleviate the pressure and learn from them. So lebron has plenty of time to be just as good when he's the age kobe is now, albeit without as many rings

ill tell u why because kobe can drive and shoot.. more balanced on offense

lebron cant hit the side of a barn on a bad day..all he does is drive against triple teams..like last night
