Boston..

Get real dude. Kobe didn't win shit without shaq until they got assraped memphis for Gasol. The lakers are fuckin stacked. THAT'S why they might win the championship again. My money is on orlando though. They have that aura and killer instinct of a champion.

For starters, Kobe was fucking 20 when he was with shaq, and still won titles.
Your gonna lose your money if it's on Orlando. The lakers in 6 no doubt!

However, I do agree that kobe is a better/more clutch player for the moment. I think lebron is more talented, but there are a few elements why kobe is a better leader. As much I hate that douchebag fuck, he is definitely a closer and clutch as it gets. He seems to live for those moments. He also manages to play at a high level despite injuries. This is the first time lebron has ever had to play with some type of even semi significant injury. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if kobe cried or overexaggerated about certain injuries to make himself look like a hero...but there were a few like his fucked up finger on his shooting hand a couple of years back that were impossible to overdramatize.

Look, Kobe reminds me of MJ at the beginning of their careers all they did was go to the hoop then they both developed that fade away which is automatic, as for being clutch when it
counts that's what seperates good players from great players. Kobe is a great player, lebron
is not there yet..Face it!

That said though, Kobe has had a helluva a lot more time in the NBA and has benefited from playing with some great players to alleviate the pressure and learn from them. So lebron has plenty of time to be just as good when he's the age kobe is now, albeit without as many rings
And his been winning championships from the beginning of his career no matter how you spin it. It remains too be seen if Lebron gets any rings

Like John Elway said" If I woundn't have won a championship my career what a been a failure"

this thread is a lesson to all who get tempted to declare victory
before it's time

this lesson is far greater than that to Cleveland fans

I've never in my life seen a city so flakey yesterday, people aren't even mad, it's real dry right now. People walking around miserable and confusing how this one feels like we've been played. Yrs and Yrs having shitty teams, then FINALLY having a roster that's loaded up and down, that overwhelming look of a championship team all year, even more than last yr. Then witnessing it completely turn into something different in a week. I watched a Wally Szerbiak, Joe Smith, Corpse Wallace, Dwest, Pavlovich rotation take a O8 champion Boston team to the final minutes of game seven, now you have this.

The hunger, when has anyone seen such a home team get boo'd for 20+ minutes of the game not even being in a elimination game. When has anyone seen a single player get bashed so bad over for not putting up hall of fame numbers in one game. When has anyone seen a game 5 semi-conf get so critisized for losing, noone even looked at the Celts for winning and playing great, the fingers were all pointed at Cleveland for tanking and blowing it. They were overwhelming favorites by everyone, anything short of a ECF was a utter joke by every analyst and Vegas odd.

Not only does this championship'less spelled city get to watch one of the greatest choke job of our sports history but in the same season we get see one of the top greatest NBA players to probably ever to play, slip away, for nothing. It's not "well there's always next yr", this one series will turn a half decade of winning to looking like a D-league team for the next half decade+ to come. Fully disintegraded franchise in a matter of days.

Beyond just losing overall confidence anymore, things like betting on my teams online up like i've been doing for awhile are completely over. This one will take me months to get over, long after Lebron's gone.

It looks like i'm overly obsessed with sports by writing this, I am. In missing probably less than 20 Cavs games in 10+ yrs, i've never thought the pieces would crumble like this overnight, it's like it was written

I still think he's gonna pull the ultimate dick move and go "psyche!! I'm stayin". Than he's going to admonish cleveland for not having faith in him and than everybody will literally be licking his ass everywhere he walks in northeast OH...lol.

I really doubt he's staying. There is really no upside to the team in place now. they're just going to get older, and they're stuck in long term contracts

ESPN is fuckin ridiculous. They're pulling stuff out of their ass now. They're all jumping on the "Lebron to chicago" bandwagon, which is absolutely stupid and came out of nowhere. Just a lame attempt to boost ratings and give chicago fans a reaosn to log in to espn everyday or watch sportscenter 2x a day

a.) Lebron is a egomaniac. There's no way he would want to be in the shadow of jordan. He'd have to win 7 titles if he went there. There's a statue of jordan outside the arena lol

b.) Derek Rose and lebron both need the ball in their hands.

c.) they don't even have a head coach. they're trying to sell that bullshit that calipari will come coach wherever lebron goes

The darkhorse IMHO? Miami. all ngrs with money love miami. it's a big market. pat riley would come back and coach, and d wade is staying.

He's not going to the nets. There's no way he's going to play in newark for 3 years. They've been talking about moving to brooklyn since 2002...and 8 years later do they finally even get the land to build the arena.

i think it boils down to the knicks and miami

when you invest as much time, money and emotion into a sport or team...it hurts.

i think of all the time i spend reading articles almost every day in multiple papers or how much i log into ESPN or debate with other fans on forums etc. Then actually watching the games...or spending the money to go them.

it's a big ass investment. and when you have a team that you're loyal to and disappoints you year in and year out, it's like an abusive relationship with someone. You keep going back to them despite the fact they cheat on you or whip your ass every time.

I know this all too well. Every single one of my teams (all NY based) hasn't won a championship since i've been alive, with the exception of the mets, when i was 3 years old...and the islanders back end of the dynasty when i was an infant and 1 lol. so i don't really count that.

I've seen the jets blow leads twice in the 2nd half of 2 AFC championship games they looked like they were going to win. The mets strike out with the bases loaded down by a run in game 7 to lose the series...in a year which it looked like they had all the tools to win it all. Before that derek jeter ripped the heart out of us during the subway series. I've seen the islanders beat the 2 time back to back stanley cup champion penguins only to lose to montreal. The knicks in teh finals in both 94 and 99...in 94 they should have won it all but john starks went 3-20 or something like that in a game they had in hand to close the out teh series. in 99, patrick ewing tore his ACL in the conference finals and we had no chance against duncan/robinson.

I've seen the giants win 3 superbowls, and the yankees win almost half a dozen titles. even the rangers broke their 1940 curse, in 1994 when i was still really into hockey. All NY teams which i really am indifferent to or don't like at all.

It fuckin blows, but you hope every year that one of these teams changes things and you have a clean slate every season. IMHO the jets this year are the best chance of breaking this personal sports team curse

the islanders are in rebuilding mode, the knicks even if they sign two max players, still need a couple of more pieces, and the mets won't do shit unless our owner stops being a jew (He is a jew..really) and omar minaya gets fired.

you = bitter that the pats aren't the favorite in the AFC east anymore

or that the patriots in an uncapped year, didn't make any real moves in free agency.

Moss is getting up there in age, and welker is going to miss at least a few games in a best case scenario, if not more.

Not to mention...did you look at their schedule? Lol...

AFC east is a tough division to begin with
then you got..

The ravens, chargers, steelers, colts, vikings, packers, bengals

the only cupcake games are the browns, the lions and bears.

Jets play most of those same teams except we play the broncos and texans. Huge difference between the colts and the chargers.

that might be the hardest schedule in football

I dont understand how you can say no NY teams have won championships and then say the yanks and giants won championships in the same post bor.

where did i say that? I said MY teams, who all are from NY, have never won a championship since i've been able to actually have a sports memory.

i never said no New York teams have won a championship. the ones that have i could give a fuck about

so you can't call me a bandwagon asshole ( i lol'ed pretty hard at that) i think the lions are the sleeper in the nfc north.
the pieces are there, schwartz is legit and so is stafford.

I rather see 1 Browns superbowl appearance than 3 Cavs championships. It's nice having a good College FB team yr in and out but OSU is still not Cleveland. Not the biggest Tribe follower, the game just moves to slow. Kinda wish we had a pro hockey team

I love me some Brownies

time to move on, see ya Lebron

if you're a dedicated lions fan, there's no way you can be a bandwagon asshole.

and honestly, the lions improved a fuck load this off season. Van den Bosch, Jahvid Best,Corey williams, Suh, Tony scheffler...even nate burleson gives them another target when Megatron is double covered.

The thing is though..their offensive line is still terrible and so is their secondary. Their D line is borderline beastly now, but it won't mean shit if the corners can't cover anybody.

They'll improve but i think more like 7-9. Next offseason they can beef up the o line and secondary.

it's much better than the kitna team when he guaranteed a playoff spot and then they COLLAPSED. megatron and stafford will be a good connection, but they are gonna have to put up 30 at the minimum to win games.

Somewhere, somehow I've heard this story before. First it was Brett Farve, then it was Sanchez and Rex Ryan. Now it's happening again.

Backed to basketball, Kobe showed last night why he's the greatest BB player in the world. Totally took over the game
when they needed him too, unlike JAMES who chokes like a whore everytime it counts. Kobe is by far the greatest in every
phase of the game. I almost felt sorry for the suns, he made them look like school boys. Chalk up another title for LA...
I don't care where JAMES goes he will never be the player KOBE is, he don't have that killer instinct to win. He doesn't
have the balls too put the game on his shoulders like KOBE. Bottom-line end of story.

So did they cancel the rest of the Eastern and Western Conf. Finals? By your logic the season is over. Fuck me running! The Lakers are just gonna stomp the Celtics like they did before?

Yep!!!!!!! Celts got lucky that year, there's no-way that old-ass team can beat LA
Way more mature Lakers team now.

lol your team is worse now. bynum is limping around, artest has been a bust, kobe+pau are great but thats it. fishers 50 years old.

I don't know they all seemed fine to me last night after they handed the suns their ass!
O' by-the-way you forgot to mention ODEM..

LOl@ Celts, Lakers been kicking their ass for years just like the Yanks do the Bosox.

LOL. I bet CW can. I can spell all the names of the Celtics players fine. And it's not like you misspelled the last guy on the bench, you messed up one of the key contributors. Do you even watch the games? This is a real thread with people who actually follow the games, not for fairweathers who post up after SportsCenter tells them who won.

I know the reason why your pissed because I corrected you on the other thread because you misspelled a word. LOL..Grow-up! I'm trying my hardest too use tact and be respectful but your making it hard. What are you CV's mouthpiece, let him defend himself. You have to be kidding me! do realise how stupid you sound? We're talking about basketball a trivial game. We're not talking about some catastrophic event or the stockmarket crashing. WTF dude! I'll admit I follow LA and that's it, like I said since MJ retired hoops suck IMO. As for being a fairweather fan been a Laker fan since 1980, not sure you were even born yet! Stop dick riding me. let me guess. your timeline went something like this

- Jump on the showtime laker's bandwagon for the duration of the entire 80's decade (you probably don't even live in LA)
- Kareem, magic and james worthy retire. you stop caring or watching for 10 years.
- If i mention the names Nick Van Exel, Cedric Ceballos and Eddie Jones you'd more likely think it was the cast of a UPN sitcom than the marque players for the lakers in most of the 90's.
- Fast forward 10 years.Phil Jackson jumps on the shaq and kobe train...you decide to turn on the TV again
-Shaq gets traded. back to hibernation while it's Kobe and the misfits
-Gasol trade, lakers become relevant again. You care somewhat.
-lakers win the title again. you decide you might try to read a box score
- Present day. You can't spell a phonetic 4 letter last name of a critical component of "your team". I think you'd seriously have to go out of your way to think it was ODEM

congrats on being a bandwagoner for 30 years

Your analysis was very good considering that's all you do all day!

Congrats on not getting any pussy for 30 years

lol...i love when people throw out the "get a life" card on the internet. pretty clever. It's a good thing you teach at a community college. A real university might demand a professor who can put together coherent sentences or that doesn't have the temperament of a 12 year old.

I'm waiting for the "i'll fly to fight you" comment

what's even funnier is....i'm absolutely certain my life > yours....in every way.

girls i've banged = the girls you think about when you jerk off

then again. if i get into that argument, i'm more pathetic than you

i'll leave it at that. got some major lolz out of this though

Lol.. @ I been watching hoops since the early eighties when hoops were good. All hoops is a hip-hop circus since MJ retired. I know the reason why your pissed because I corrected you on the other thread because you misspelled a word. LOL..Grow-up! I'm trying my hardest too use tact and be respectful but your making it hard. What are you CV's mouthpiece, let him defend himself. I think what's bothering you the most is that I responded to his post in not yours. Mommy and Daddy didn't give you enough attention growing up! THIS A REAL THREAD. O' BY THE WAY SPORTSCENTER
INFORMED HOW THE lAKERS TRASHED THE SUNS AGAIN.
I'd actually forgot about that, but you clearly haven't. So maybe you should stop dick riding me and actually stay on topic. I love how when we attack your NBA knowledge (lack thereof) you just resort to personal attacks because you realize you can't keep up. More LOLs @ you "trying to be respectful," at least admit you're a douche bag. All you are doing is making yourself look like a joke.

WTF are you talking about a gave you credit for being almost right about everything!
IT seems strange to be in into sports like you are that's all.

O' by the way where do you live.LoL

CW,

O'by the way I do teach at a real university in summer. Youngstown State, one class every summer with
only a Masters. They grandfathered me in. I didn't feel the need to boast.

I was talking about the 80's when they owned them Lakers 5 Celts 3 .
OMG that is fucking OWNAGE right there!!!!!!! BTW

When basketball was worth watching, but your young ass don't remember,
No, actually I'm 33 and remember 84 and on quite well so I witnessed 2 rings 84 and 86 Parish vs Kareem,Mchale on the glasses wearing freak, Magic, Bird, Kareem, it was the best competition between 2 teams of the best I have ever witness in any sport ever.

But, I'm impressed with the stats, what did you do stay up all night researching.
No, there is this thing called google that gives you info in 5 seconds if you have a brain like mine, also I knew right off the bat you were wrong, and it sounded like something a 13 y/o would say on the espn message boards (see CW for reference lol :qt:)

lolololol.... the dude is in his twenties bro

Well bro, the little boy acts like he's aged in wisdom. All that means he's a little disrespectful
a-hole. Thanks for letting me know he's a kid, I'll perfectly ignore his posts from now on.
I should of red flagged him anyway by how trivial and inept his comments are, and he needs
people to back him up on everything he says. Those are signs of being immature.
Thanks for exposing him, now I know every time he posts he has a websters and a newspaper
by him before he posts because INPROMPTO IS immpossible for him to operate in.

Anyway, thank you

27 is a little boy? dumbass. again, some dipshit underachieving community college professor in bumblefuck Ohio (god, i feel bad for your students. I imagine when you grade papers they say "GRATE JOB") shouldn't be coming on here talking about "great" his team or talking shit when he only cares about a team when they're winning. Even though i rag on people like ortiz and redshirt because i loathe boston, they actually are passionate about sports in their city..and not just when it's "convenient"

i'm sure your bandwagoning goes well with the locals in a state that's suffered for sports in a long time. I'm sure no one knows it though, because you only bring it up when you check the papers and see the lakers in the finals. You'd probably get crucified if they know you were such a flaky piece of shit.

and for the record, when you're from NYC...whether it's your investment banker, attorney, the guy who cleans your bathrooms in the office, or your grandmother...they probably know a good bit about basketball. that's the way the city is.
Of course you wouldn't know dick about that because some almost illiterate fuck like you would get eaten alive in a place like New York.

that's funny. you call everyone here a loser yet you're the one jumping to respond to everyone's post about you.

how you got a college degree i have no fuckin idea.

wait...nm. congrats on being a graduate of devry

lol@ ledhead thinking I'm an Illegal Latino just because of my SN.

well, guess he's not a baseball fan either. maybe he'd have better luck on a ballroom dancing discussion

btw ortiz....you listen to 98.5 on the radio at all?
my friend moved about the same time i did last year(up there), to do his sports radio show. The D.A. show

that station big up there? saw him on NFL network a week or so ago and was happy to see him getting his name out there that much.

D.A. David Amendelara or something? Yeah, he's on nights and I have caught some of his shows. He seems like a good guy. Is he originally from Boston?

So he's either a green bean or Gman fan

LOL...you think a jets fan would get a radio show in Miami and then Boston?
i love weei.. but fred smerlas makes me want to punch myself in the face more often than not.

i wouldnt expect you to know who that is.. but the point is being a fan doesn't mean shit on the radio if you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
