Boards opinion on deaths of WWE wrestlers/Matarazzo/Steve Mihalik health issues

Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerro dies in their late 30's, Matarazzo has had serious health issues that have almost ruined him....what part did steroids play in these deaths health issues? I know that Mihalik is very anti-steroid these days but he admitted himself that he took "A ton" of gear to the extreme, plus we don't know what other drugs these people were taking....be interested to hear the boards opinion on this issue!

lets do the math

lots of steroids= high blood pressure, cholestrol issues, high red blood cell counts making it hard on the heart, kidneys etc

combine that with

extremely muscular physique that requires alot of blood, thus enlargment of the heart

then combine it with comman leaning aids

clen, t3, amphetamines etc, all very hard on the heart

and then combine it again with very low bf%, strict dieting and dehydrating contests which again hard on heart, liver, kidneys

and wala u have health issues not suprisingly

combined with no sleep, pain pill addictions, anti depresent use, over 300 days a year touring and you have to stay looking good so they are never off. Also alot of meth use from my understanding. haha I agree pretty tough on the body for a fake sport!

I think the steroids more than likely played a roll in their deaths and issues, but not the sole roll. They are just the drug that gets the bad wrap. I mean, you could overdose on heroin and also have roids in your system and I'll bet ya any money the press and news will report more on the steroids.

they are extremem situations..

guys like us on here understand that you must run short conservative cycles... cycle off... most of us are just gym rats trying to pass guys at the gym who are bigger and stronger. bloke said it best, those guys run 24/7 365 days a year.. have to look good all the time.. have to be able to pick a 250 pound dude up and throw him and hold him in the air. and then drop him to where you do not intentially hurt him.

always cycle off and always run blood tests after cycle and before cycle to make sure everything is good.

If steroids were the main cause of these wrestlers deaths then you would see many more older football players, body builders & powerlifters dropping dead. I believe that the pain killers & anti depressants & don't forget (lots of) alcohol, are far worse.

Milhalik reminds me of one of these guys, like ex convicts or party animals who like to talk about their days of craziness and then preach how others shouldn't do it.

Meanwhile he was an outrageous abuser. Sorry Steve, can't relate.

As for the other guys -- too much stuff, never coming off, lots of physical punishment, plus recreational drugs, plus pain killers, etc, etc, etc. It's not a healthy lifestyle. But I don't buy that bodybuilding isn't healthy. It's the MOST healthy thing you can do -- if you do it right.

Agreed Nelson I am a pro wrestler here in virginia and I've met some of the old timers and heard some of the stories about the drugs and abuse of gear. It was deffinately a cocktail of numerous drugs but the gear abuse didnt prob help!

A friend of mine wrestles for WWE. Hes always on, never seen him cycle off. Constantly stressed and on pain killers and sleep aids. Even when we work out together, hes got more size on me but our strength levels are about the same. I think his biggest issues tho are the pain killers. That and prob stds from the amount of sleeping around he does lol.
