Battling the same incline chest dumbells weight for 1.5 yrs

lighter

New member
I don't bench. Hits my front delts hard. When I started lifting I moved quickly up from the 45 lb dumbells on incline to the 65's with no problem. Now I can get the 70's up for three or four when I'm doing a heavy cycle, but never much more and once I move to a lighter cycle I can't put them back up until I train heavy again (even if I mix some heavy and light). I've tried forced reps, going up to 75, 80, and 85lbers with assisitance. On my heavy lift cycles I tried to keep it in the 3-5 range with anywhere from 3-5 minutes in between. I work tri's, but stay away from front delt work because they bust like crazy. I think I have reached my genetic limit. Anybody been here done that, have some suggestions?

70's on a heavy cycle? hahahahahahahahaha, dude that's my first warmup set clean, that is the most pitiful thing i've ever heard. i've seen women who handle more than that, what are you doing using steroids? build a good base first clean, no offense but that's the most assinine thing i've ever heard.

yeah 70's may be light for us but it may not be for this guy.

You do need to alter your routine. Try other exercises for a few weeks then come back to them. Try light warm ups and go straight to heavy. Hit your heaviest first and then work down.

he said 70's ON A CYCLE!! that's what makes me laugh, obviously his heart isn't in it or his genetics are worse than most women, probably both.

I have to agree after seeing some of the pictures of guys on this board who have cycles under their belt I find it hard to believe they really know what intense training is.

i mean come on, this is what people mean when they say build a good base, guys don't want to put in the hard work on the barbell movements, everybody is on the dumbbells or the Smith or Hammer machines, i was pressing the 130's for reps on the incline before i even touched juice, and my genetics ain't shit.

I may be wrong, but Im not sure he ment "steroid" cycle. More like cycling his weight between workouts from week to week, or month to month.

Yes, I've been stuck a few times, change your lifts, and or form. Mybe stop doing inclines fro a while. What are you doing for delts, and how is your flat bench?
