a mixture of these 2. i was in boot camp...my mom sends a box full of reeses peanut butter cup for me to "share" with the platoon and a note to my drill instructors. "dear drill sergeants,...." something to the effect of "be nice to them, a little break for kindness is always welcomed" or something. oh holy crap, i had to eat soooo many reeses peanut butter cups, and i hid that god damn note....

they would have "dirt"ed me sooo bad. my name would have been recruit quarterdeck.

My mom, sent fudge, cookies and candies while I was in third phase. I never knew I could fit a dozen cookies in my mouth at the same time. Damn they were big too.

My cousin has told me a similar story when he was in bootcamp for the marines...His father was a marine and made sure to send him the packages just so they would mess with him a bit more
