are car alarms even worth installing?

A capacitor? What did ya'll do before the capcitor. My sysytem runs great with 600 watts running 2 subs and the original deck running 4..6.25 speakers and tweeters

i've never needed a capacitor before, but i've never ran more than 400watts. only once or twice did i get any dash light flickering in my Blazer, but the sub amp was only putting out 300watts.

if i can get the stuff i want and i end up running a 1200watt system, 900 of it in sub power alone, i might have to look into installing a capacitor. i really don't want to, but if there's any light flickering in this car, i will be installing a capacitor. not sure what the stock alternator can keep up with, and i won't know until i get the system installed.

check into it first before you buy the $$$capacitor

i'm going to do the install w/out capacitor. if i have any issues, however, i'll be buying a capacitor. like i said, i hope to avoid using one because it's just more money and one more thing to mount and wire into the system. if i need it, i'll get it. if i don't need it, then i'll be very happy.

Depends on where you live, and how nice your car is. If you drive a 72' chevy pick up, and live in rural Iowa, than I wouldn't worry about a car alarm. If you drive a 2004 BMW M5, and live in downtown LA, than I'd install one ASAP.
