Anyone here had LASIK (laser eye surgery) performed?

I was thinking of doing this soon. Just curious if anyone here has done it and has any experiences?

I wanted to get regular LASIK, but now there is this new "Custom LASIK" and don't know if getting normal LASIK is a bad idea?

Any info would be great. Thanks everyone.

I had it done 5 or 6 yrs ago by Dellarusso in NJ. My only problem now is that I am a little more sensitive to the sun. All in all I'm glad I had it done. Plus I was able to write it off my taxes (work related).

Another benefit is now you can really see how ugly some people really are.

I had mine done in San Jose, CA by Lasik plus. Dr. was cool as hell, but the actual procedure was really uncomfortable. The get all clockwork orange on my eyes and when they put the suction on my iris, and start to cut the 1st flap away, my stress levels shot up 2000%. I was frozen in this really wierd position and I didnt want to move, lazers being shot in my eye and all. I should have taken the valium they offered. The actual procedure took maybe 5 minutes total, and i could immediately see better right away, although it hurt to open my eyes and my vision was all cloudly like looking through smoke. After 1 day, I could see great, and had only mild discomfort.
Its been 1 month now, and I agree that it is the best money I have ever spent. $2400 for both eyes with standard Lasik procedure. Oh and not rubbing your eyes for a month is really hard.

$6k and still wear glasses. See halos at night, and sensitive to light. But I had a very bad vision to begin with. it did improve it greatly.

I really need to get a surgeon that "fixes" these things, like when you have bad plastic surgury and need it fixed... Not that mine was bad, just want it done again, but the doc said it could`nt be done anymore. Damn it!

It's on my list of things to do. I don't mind wearing glasses. I snore really bad and I want to get that fixed somehow.

I'm with Razor. Did it 5 years ago. Best 5k I ever spent!

well, there was that time in Vegas...
