anyone get their teeth fixed late in life.

About getting your teeth bonded - be careful. If your teeth are already large or if the space is big, you might end up looking like Bugs Bunny. Ever taken a close look at Chris Rock's teeth? He had a gap and "poof" it was gone. Now he has two GIANT front teeth. :D

Also, if you get veneers, and you want to whiten your teeth, you'll probably have to whiten before you get the veneers b/c they will make them a color to match your other teeth.

i think my toothbrush and/or toothpaste is going to give me cancer.

i have an oral-b 3d excel electrict toothbrush, and whenever i turn the thing on, the lights in my bathroom flicker. odd to say the least.

as for my toothpaste, i use crest total with whitening, and that shit leave my tongue for HOURS, and fucks up my taste for a 1-2 hours atleast after brushing. it also leaves grit in your mouth even after rinsing out.

but it does make your teeth really neat. oh yeah, the toothbrush is the bomb as well.

Flex...try Crest whitening strips. They work wonders. I haven't talked to anyone who didn't notice a difference. You have to put them on for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. Do this for two weeks...and voila! You'll have noticably whiter teeth.

Also, instead of braces they have a different way of pushing teeth together. It involves making molds of your teeth every two weeks. They are clear and you can hardly notice them when you're talking. If they are small gaps, you could probably use these for about a month or two and then get a connector put on the back of your teeth to hold them together. I have one on the back of my two front teeth and it's been great! It's been there for about 6 years.

Good luck with it.

Porcelain veneers are very costly, btw.

Whiter teeth will make a world of difference. The 'white out' looking one is a good 'touch up' one, but not good to get them really white in the first place. The best ones for that, are the mouth trays, or tape ones. The cheapest, and one of the best is made by Rembrandt. It's about $10-12.00. It comes with a tray, the gel, and a mouth wash. In about two weeks, you will notice a big difference.

After the the first 2-4 weeks, you can just use the tray 1-2 times a week to keep it up. Then when that runs out, by the trayless one. It will last longer, and good for maintnance.

ps. Even if your teeth aren't perfectly straight, having a bright smile alone will more than make up for it. Unless you are a complete snaggletooth of course, which it seems you aren't :)

ok i am probably the best person to talk to on the subject...

i got my braces off like 3 months ago... had them on for about 3 yrs.

i am 23 btw

not many insurances cover it, but orthos understand this, so they give you interest free monthly payments to help you out. I think i paid like $90 a month for mine..

they are the biggest pain in the ass ever, but they are defly worth all the aggravation. my teeth were horrible before i got them and now they are pretty damn straight.

after i got them off i used the crest white strips... which are the best ones on the market and they worked wonders as well. i get compliments on my teeth from a lot of people now. ur dentist has a similar whitening program which is better... it's like $100 or so for the trays and the whitener is only like $10. so overall it's a better deal if u plan on using it all the time.

oh and u usually have to put about 20% down on your braces... which was $600... not sure if ya have that kind of dough, but i'd find a way to get it..

i have to wear retainers most of the time now... i wear them all the time except on dates or when i go out... i convinced one of my friends to get braces cuz he saw the results of mine and his teeth are pretty messed up

get them ASAP!!!

I have to make a decision of dealing with my gaps or wearing braces? I was thinking maybe there was a nightime thing to wear that would eventually bring the teeeth together. O welp.

I'll see an orthodontist anyways.

You might want to try Invisalign...but it's pricey:

Thats what I was looking for. I remember when I was in my teens I went to an orthodontist and he said if I got braces then I would have only needed them on for the most 3 months. Now my teeth are even closer from the wisdom teeth pushing them in so I wouldn't need them on for long.

If insurance doesn't cover it, i'll probbly go without doing it. But once I get my mind set on something I keep thinking of it till I get it done.

I'd like to have a absolute perfect smile. I don't know how many times people walk past me and tell me to smile. Even when I'm in a good mood I'll have a frown on.

look up a dental procedure called "Porcelain Veneers", that might work if the gaps are small.

nevermind i found a site

http://www.animated-teeth.com/porcelain_veneers/t1_porcelain_veneers.htm

regular orthodontics takes about 24 months, a veneer only takes a couple of visits. they are expensive though. I'd assume you'd need 2 so that would be about $900 total. DOn't know if the insurance will cover it since it is cosmetic.

Great Idea!

Also, the tooth whitening done at the dentist office far exceeds any retail product.

Also, most dental insurance offers very little coverage in general - some better than others.

So go for it.

GOOD LUCK
