any such thing as waterproof dress shoes?

guys,,,my job requires me to dress formally every day. yet, i just moved to a part of the country that has rather nasty winters...

for you bros who live in a place that have nasty winters: what do you do when you need to wear dress shoes? Is there such a thing as waterproof dress shoes?

I mean, i have to wear black shoes daily, to match my suit pants...there is usually a puddle of water/sludge/snow/ice leading from my apartment to my car,,then from my car into the office,,,etc. etc...

what to do?

anyone got any suggestions? sorry to pose such a weird question..haha:chomp:

Not that I've ever seen. You can buy a water repellent spray product made for leather though. I've used it on my leather bags and it works fine. Using it on leather uses would really be a test of it though since they would tend to be exposed to a lot more water than a handbag. You'd probably want to retreat them them weekly to keep a good coating of it on them.

If you want high-end military/police-looking formal wear, corcoran/matterhorns are the way to go. They tend to be the shiney dress type, though; no semi-casuals.

Otherwise check like an Allen Edmonds or Brooks Brothers catalogue for this feature. They probably have something.

As a northerner myself, I can't say it's an issue for me. Waterproof shoes won't do much against a 12" snow pile or 5" slush puddle.

you can pull a chick move and wear one set of shoes in, and change them at your desk in to your workwear shoes

my leather tactical boots I treat with mink oil...smells gross tho
