Triceps are worked the day before chest. They're not going to be ready to get worked again after an intense tricep session. Also, there is only one day for rest and growth there - that's no good.

Too high of volume, also. No need for that. Keep the sets to 7 for biceps/triceps/delts and around 9 for legs/chest/back.

how ignorant to just make a blanket saying like that.you dont know anything of his genetics and recuperation abilities. i make great gains on routine like this, we react very different. dont be sure its to much

Yes and he told us nothing of his genetics and such, and asked for suggestions on his routine. I gave him my suggestions. It doesn't mean he has to follow them. Ass.

Hey boys.....relax......just a simple post with some suggestions requested.....My genetics are stellar...lol....nah, but I will be chemilcally enhanched and have trained this way for a long ass time w/ gains coming slowly but solid....1-2lbs / week max......I do all my power movements first (i.e. shld press, bench, squat, str8 curls, close grip, dbell/tbar,str8 rows) then finish off with some isolation work.......in the gym no longer than 70 minutes........

IMO i dont like starting the week w/ shoulders...i like them to be fresh for the week, usually throw them in at the end

if you are doing such intense tri workout they should be a few days seperate from chest. and rest bro recovery is most important 3 days minimum.

Ahhhh...Finally. My kind of routine! I wouldnt hit the triceps before chest though, as itll cut your strength. Im a big believer in progressive resistance. Id also probabally give myself 2 recovery days. Depends alot on if your sets are extremely heavy or to failure also. And your recovery ability also. Sounds good though overall. You might want to throw some shoulder work in there. Not presses, but maybe some lateral raises and rear delts. I have a flat bench day and incline bench day, I throw in a little delt work on incline day, along with some speed bench.Like me your probabally getting more then enough front delt work from your benching. Hope that helps

Rock on bro - what do you guys do on your off days? Nada>>>? It's been many, many, many years since I've done absolutely nothing......If the gym is closed, I'll at least run a couple miles.....you guys ever just do nothing but eat and sleep?

Always! Just eat and sleep :D

I have a couple questions for you Jkurz...

How long have you been working out?

What are your stats?

How much do you bench, squat and deadlift?

Debaser.....I've been in the game for about 8 years and still learning everyday.......I'm 6'2, 195lbs right now and about 7% bf.....just hit a cut cycle from 235lbs and 12% and lost some mass, but not too much strength......Haven't maxed out in awhile, but in my routine I do 335 for 3 on bench........315 in the bucket for 8-10 on squats........and dead around 315 for 8-10 on my last set.......nothing to impressive, I know, but I'm pretty content with the way I look and like getting positive feedback from people at the gym........never claimed to hold any records or know everything, so why do I feel like your post caled me out?

Jkurz i think debaser was just trying to get some more information in order to give his opinion...i didn't see his post as calling you out in any way.

18 inch arms-
i think you are the one that needs to check the attitude.

lol "got any pics?" you sound like a 16 year old.

Yeah I wasn't calling you out in any way, in fact you're stronger than me. The only reason I was trying to gather that information was to see if these high volume routines *really* worked for you. To be honest, and this is not a slam, I think that after 8 years you should be a bit more advanced. Also, your squat and deadlift should both be probably a couple hundred pounds higher.

If I were you man, I would give HST an honest shot. It will only take 8 weeks of your time, and then you will see what is truly required for muscular growth. And if it didn't work, though I'm confident it will, 8 weeks isn't that much time in the great scheme of things.

Couple of hundred pounds higher????? I don't train for strength bro - I train for a hobby.....to feel good...and a release from my stresses of life (work, etc...)....I'm very pleased with my dedication and looking at me, it has paid off.....my diet is on point, but my routine is getting stale...tis why I asked for some replies....I have tried 5x5 and liked it.....also tried DC and, although thought many of the stretches (tippy toes quad streth, shoulder stretch, heavy dumbell flys to arpits) did more harm than good, it is a solid plan....don't get me wrong, stretching is crucial, but taken to the extreme will do damage.....

Give me your interrpretaion of HST.....I'd definately consider giving it a shot........

don't want to fight or argue with you bro - not my intention....just ALWAYS eager to learn.......
