another customs question

Too many siezed items and not enough man power to prosecute or investigate each one. Bro, dont fucking sign ANYTHING ELSE! That was a bad move. You should have just sent that motherfucking guy on his way and told him you are not signing for something you have no idea about or have no knowledge of. And forget about sending the seizure letter to your supplier cuz that can open up another fucking can of worms. Take your losses and go domestic or to a new addy. Be smart.

Remember guys, my "seizure letter" was for Cuban cigars, not gear. At the time of my order, and I explained this to the customs agent in charge of my "case", I did not know they were illegal. The agent said I had two options, if I wanted to contest the seizure a hearing date could be set up or I could foerfit my cigars and the case would be closed. Since they were illegal I decided to forefit the cigars.

After this happend, I talked to a friend of mine in customs and asked for clarification on seizure letters. He told me that there are three types of letters that go out, usually all certified. He said it is very rare anyone gets prosecuted on the first or second time they have a seizure. Without you actually receiving the package, they cannot prove you (1) ordered anything illegal and (2) took posession of something illegal. However, he did say your address may become flagged for any/all out of the country deliveries.

It's a mess. I wouldn't mess with international orders. I would only go with a local remailer if I did gear.

I, like partagus also received a siezure letter yesterday. My question is and I've not seen this on a board before, do they always come certified? Mine came certified and of course you have to sign for a certified letter. I need the letter for a resend but I was a little taken back by having to sign. Just making sure if this is the norm. Thanks guys.

I got a letter from FL (Seizure) with my first order. Long story short, before I knew better, I used Registered EXPRESS. That was a big factor in the seizure I'm sure. My letter came in my mailbox, not certified. Seems very odd that they would go to the trouble of getting it sent via certified with all the letters I'm sure that they send out.

Just one more good reason to use an alias when ordering, when using W.Union (cash only), etc....as well as ordering my stuff UN-Registered. It may take a little longer to get it. BUT there's much less of a TRAIL leading to me. PLUS, I know I will NEVER be signing for anything. "Nobody by that name lives here, sorry!". "You have evidence of XYZ being sent here?" "Nobody here has ever received anything from XYZ...yea I've actually been a recent victim of identity theft..." Just some examples.
