I've been eating a 3100 calorie diet with about 230 g protein (50 c/30 p/20 f), and I though the 230 grams of protein was good since I'm just 138 pounds. Now , somebody tells me that I might be compromising my kidneys my eating so much protein.
I quickly replied that I drink plenty of water (i don't count, but I'm sure it's like 16 glasses or more), and then he says that drinking that much water may be putting even more pressure on my kidneys (they need to filter it).
How can this be if my muscles are using this excess protein and water?
Secondly, I hear a lot of you do this diet where you get very few carbs, but how can I bring the carbs way down if I need to get close to 3000 calories to bulk up (I'd prolly need 2400-2500 calories just to maintain my weight!). That would mean eating like 450 g protein, 100 g fat, and like 50g carbs for me, and that's crazy.
I thought my 50/30/20 diet was good for bulking, but I get this feeling that the carbs are gonna be stored as fat after hearing everyone talk about these low carb plans. Is the low carbs just when you drop the calorie intake? please explain.
