Read your prep post. You are tall right? I was a heavy for almost 10 years but I suffered a quad tear in 2003 and now I cannot carry the 30 inch quads I once did so my weight while really a heavy at national level will not make it. I step on stage at 206-208 loaded and I am 5'7". Good luck at Jr's...this year?

Hey, I am new to this am I will try not to ask the "what can I take to make me thin" question...don't want to get chewed! But, here is a question, bare with me...

About 5 years ago I was pretty lean with good muscle tone. I worked out a lot and was very into it. Then my mom got sick. She had lung cancer. There went my gym days, were replaced with working nights and taking her to doctor appts. and chemo everyday. With that came quick meals, mainly fast food. Weight really piled on. So 5 years later, mom died over a year ago, i am still heavy, and just can't get an edge. Am trying dieting, working out, everything. I have never taken steroids before but have been researching them a lot lately. I am not looking for an easy way out, just a jump start. Both my parents were heavy and I can gain weight very fast...great for muscle building but the fat packs on just as fast. I don't want to take a steroid and end up getting "fatter" so is there any out there that would help aid, along with strict diet and exercise, that would help. Also, any diet and exercise recommendations would be greatly accepted.

ya I am a little over 6 foot. So i gotta carry alot of muscle to be proportional to alot of the sorter guys. Luckly Most of my height is in my torso and not my legs and my lats insert low so my v taper is still there.
sorry to hear about the quad tear bro. How did you do it?
@ 5'7" being over 200 lbs in contest shape is amazing at the amatuer level. congrats on being able to do it , thats alot of dense muscle your packing.

Im not doing the Jr's this year. I need a little break. Ive competed 4 times in Area NQ events in California with 4 2nd place finishes. Despite all those competitions Ive gained 27 lbs in better contest shape than when i started this run last april.
Nxt year though i am definately going to do the Jr's. Im going to take a few months to clean out and get my life and my head back in order then really see how much Quality LBM I can gain( im hoping for another 20 lbs) so i can step on stage in the 260's or 270's, shredded, with a tight waist striated and carrying some deep separation.

Good deal man...thats fucking big. watch your health in your quest. Things can get carried away at the national level...been there since 1997. All the best.
