Almost bought a black Trans Am today

My aunt had that exact car when I was a little kid. The e-brake failed when she was parked on a hill and it hit a tree going maybe 20 mph. I guess the body on the cars were in 2 pieces or some shit and the back caved into the front. The insurance guy said if she was rear ended at a decent speed there'd have been a chance she would have been seriously injured.

I always felt so cool riding around in that thing when I was young.

you don't feel cool in your mini van?

I like those! I had one; a '77 Bandit ltd edition with the 6.6, and the snowflake rims, etc etc. I could kick myself for selling it. It was 100% original showroom condition, and under 90k miles. It developed a rod clatter, and I sold it to a friend for $400, and he rebuilt the engine and gave it to his (adult) daughter. At that time, the Bandit LTD with the gold dash and gold snowflake rims were going for about $7500 in perfect shape, but I had too many things going on to mess with it, and I knew it was going to a good owner. She still has it, and it's still in perfect shape in a garage in Phoenix. I also had an '84 Trans Am pace car with the sadly underpowered 5.0, and also an '85 with the Lear-Siegler interior package.

Jesus who knew these cars have such a rapid following right now. Damn everywhere I went, tons of people wanting them. Looked into a classic jet BLACK corvette (my dream car with black tinted windows) same shit. ugh.

What generation? I almost bought a '74. Was very pretty, but christ the build quality in the 70's was shit. I opened the door and it dropped a half inch.

My father has a Tuxedo Black '67 with the 427 3 deuce setup and it's actually well made. Plus....dude...it fricking sounds awesome.

you should buy it and then tell woot to sell you his burt rynolds/tom selleck stache so you pull off the car better.

That shit is coming back big time. I'm guessing in the next 10-15 years you'll see those fully restored going for 50-70k at Barrett-Jackson

I had a black 79 6.6 ltr 400 , with the shaker hood/ automatic/ edelbroc carb. No emblem stickers though, all black including the rims.
I had about 126K on it, it was a nice car but not a show car like that.
I bought it for $1700 in 1994 and sold it for $2800 two years later.
The Burnout/ horror shows I use to do with it were insane
