alcatraz pullup post

Anyone who disagrees with this is extremely disingenuous. 99% of bodybuilders only do so because of some extreme insecurities. Not saying its good or bad, per se...but it is what it is.

I personally could care less if Im stuck at 185 lbs. Then again, if my bodyfat gets too high I get rather perturbed.

I kinda agree with this.

I wouldn't call myself insecure, but I'm very careful with what I eat and I def. care a great deal about the way I look...
 
i always wondered why bobybuilders just lift to change the way they look. i always lifted to get stronger at whatever sport i was playing.
i can see big guys lifting to be a better shot putter, or football player, but just to lift to be a bodybuilder, not playing sports is strange to me.
you run the 100 or 200, you work the squat and leg press a bit and if you are a distance runner you work the curls and military press for the arm action and power you need in the last 1/2 mile of a 10k race.lift a lot to be a stronger wrestler..
powercleans for discus throwers. to compete in sports, is what i think weight training is for.. not to always bulk up to get bigger..bigger for what?? maybe non athletes, or terrible athletes bodybuild..

i seen roger callard throwing a fooball to robbie r in the movie pumping iron.. wow. a built guy, but throws like a girl.
these guys are just too big and non athletic..
embarassing to me.
why not get stronger for a sport without getting so big you cant play the sport?.

why not get stronger for a sport without getting so big you cant play the sport?.

That's why people find other things to do to make sure they stay on tip top shape in several aspects of life.

Example: I do martial arts, weight lifting, hoping to someday get into strongman and recently arm wrestling. I've done track, cross country and wrestling for years too.
 
i think thats the way to do it. lift to get good at sports . not to just lift for a certain look....to be built, as big as a house, but cant play any sports and be halfway good at them is no good.

I hear you. However, most dudes can't get that big unless they go through cycle after cycle for a long time, even with genetics. It's not like wearing red pants and a red shirt, and and that's it, it's done.

Dorian and Arnold, chose that as a career.

I think what is more disconcerting is probably the attitude of narcissicm out of control, whether you are 5 10/185, or 5 10/250.

Purty sure that's the jab Puddles intended at the beginning.
