Accutane is the one thing I will recommend.....because it absolutely changed my life...but lok into thoroughly before hand...
Hope I'm not interupting too much but was wondering....have you guys noticed less acne when running a test prop cycle as ooposed to longer acting esters for test??
Im acne prone and about to try out my 1st test cycle......scared shitless about getting the acne back.....figured if it comes back and Im on prop, then i will drop the prop and it hopefully will clear out fast. Hopefully that doesnt haPPEN
I'll second that. Most of the accutane bashing goes on from people that have never used it or had to. Talk to someone that was prescribed it for acne and 99 out of 100 of them are going to tell you the stuff was a godsend.
I get acne pretty bad not during cycle, but during PCT.
Try using a mild, slightly acidic wash - you can get it at Wal-Mart; it's the fake proactive. I also make sure to get enough soluable fiber, plenty of water (over a gallon a day), Vitamin B5 (10 grams spaced out evenly), and Vitamin A (from liver oil, not from beta caroteine).
Accutane does kick ass, but if you're a little scared to try it, try these things, along with what everyone else suggested....
I had some pretty horrible acne when I was younger. I tried some topical antibiotic creams and every damn wash/pad/soap that was available. The only thing that cleared up my acne was accutane. It was a godsend. It totally changed my life. Honestly though, I could give a damn less about a pimple now. I mean, I had a few break outs during my cycle on my shoulders but *nothing* near as bad as when I was in highschool. If you take accutane I'd only do so under a doc's orders. Look at the bright side, you get your blood tested like every two weeks! As far as depression went, I went through a kinda goth stage around the time I was on it but I don't think it was because of the medicene. If I had been hitting the weights like I should've been things would've been different.
I had horrible cystic acne as a teenager. I tried accutane, and man, it works alright, but it did fuck with me psychologically. I became very depressed, and I sweated like you wouldn't believe and the sking on my lips peeled off daily. My advice is stay away from it unless nothing else works. For me, the following worked wonders and continues to work today when on cycle:
(1) Wash with dial soap.
(2) Splash problem areas with 2% salicylic acid astringent throughout the day
(3) Apply strong version of Retin-A gel over problem areas every night.
This three-part program will work for most people I think, given that it worked for me. Actually kept me from having any serious zit scars. Good luck.
Come on, I know everyone has there folk remedies for acne they swear work, but I would love to see a study that shows acne is caused by dehydration.
You can try all the stuff people are recommending and maybe sho some slight improvement, but if you have acne as bad as it sounds you should toss all the herbal crap in the trash, go to a dermatologist, and get it treated like the medical condition that it is. Somehow I doubt hes going to but you on a course of SesaPURE and water.
accutane is a godsend. Did you have very oily skin even before cycle etc?
I used to wash my face (even before i touched AAS (ASS hehehe)), and 20 minutes later i could run a tissue over my face and it would be covered in oil. Fuckin ridiculous.
Then I did aas. My face was fine, my back went berserk. I'm on accutane now. Prescibed 80mg a day, but I can only manage 40mg as my lips kill me. I will try to bump to 50mg next week.
No more oil in my face. My back is drying out, but it takes LONGm on a low dose as this. Apparebtly though the cummulative dose is the important part - 120mg/kg body weight. as long as you take 0.5 mg/kg per day it's fine (which is 40 mg for me).
AQccutane is causing me some breakotus on my back, but that happens. Hopefully in 4 months I'll be completely clear. Then I'll try a prop cycle. If I break otu again, I'll have to do acctuane again...and then i say fuck aas...
hydration is essential to skin fluidity and inflammation management (as is lipid profile of skin). poor hydration and poor fatty acid profile will aggravate any underlying issues. Hydration and fatty acid intake will not neccessarily "cure" acne, but it will generally reduce severity.
I know you have to take the good with the bad but this whole acne problem is getting out of hand. I tried everything over the counter, then tried B5 at 5000mg per day, still have HEAVY acne on my delts and back. I have heard so much bad stuff about accutane (liver damage, depression etc.) I have tried to stay away from it. Truth is, if I just had a minor case of acne I would care less but I have a very very noticable amount, any suggestions??????
Accutane. It's expensive as hell from the pharm 400-1000$ depending on the brands and the dosages. I'm on 60mgs a day from my derm which is called "Sotret". I will be starting 80mgs next month (its even cheaper! go figure!). If you don't have insurance, contact me and I'll point you in the right direction. 20-40mgs will dry you out. You should have your liver checked 1 time a month - basic liver testing. It can throw your cholestoral values and liver values way off. Take 3 grams of omegas a day with working out and cardio and you'll be in great shape. I have had adult acne all my life and when i started gear, it just made it all the worse. Its embarrassing at age 34 with huge zits on my chin and mouth area. Not to mention the puss farm on my back! I've been on accutane now for almost 2 months and i've only broken out with maybe 3 minor zits. I'm dry as hell so you have to keep the mouth area well moisturized with what I use is "vaseline intensive skin repair" and "veeno" skin moisturizer. Both contain NO mineral oil! You don't want that in your lotions, or it will make you break out even worse. vaseline uses petroleum in small amounts plus a bunch of other natural anti-pore blocking agents. I also use the lip protectant / healer from neosporin. keeps lips nice and soft. I really wish I would have done this earlier in life, but i didn't have health bennies back then. if you got any other questions, pm me..
