Acne, lets have serious discussion.....

toss all the herbal crap in the trash, go to a dermatologist, and get it treated like the medical condition that it is.

most drugs are derived from plant sources. The drug most reccomended for severe acne is accutane, accutane is a retinoid, a Vitamin A derivative.

accutane works partially via PPAR and susequent DGAT impacts (sesamin-- mentioned as Sesapure is a PPAR alpha agonist and inhibits DGAT1 and upregulates DGAT2)...

many users of Sesamin reports significantly improved acne.... unlike accutane Sesamin has a # of health benefits aside from helping with Acne...

Just like Green Tea? Or is it ALA? Then R-ALA? Cabaser? And there have been about 50 products give or take in between that the EF store (Anabolic Fitness) wanted to sell so they hyped them up on the boards. Isn't anyone curious why this is the only board that is raving about Sesamin (or whatever else is for sale that month)?

By herbal crap I didn't mean all products derived from plants, but rather the crap the EF store is selling as a cure-all like a snake-oil salesman in the old west. Any effects of these "supplements" is going to minor if any, if some of the people on here stopped looking at the bottom line and started looking out for the best interests of the members we might get less sesamin and water suggestions and more see a doctor and get the proper diagnosis posts.

What is wrong with Green tea? Guess that that thousands of Green tea products were created by AF? Guess that all the research and articles on the benefits of Green tea were actually created by AF.

AF never sold ALA. And if you wish to question the efficacy of R+ lipoic please present some evidence. Since AF was the first to sell R+ lipoic in the US its fair to say that they were involved in promoting it. Though Asta medica would have sold if they could have gotten a patent. As a note- R+ lipoic is and has been a prescription drug in europe for over 30 years.

With respect to Cabaser, AF has never sold it (if they could legally do so- am sure that they would)... what exactly do you have against cabergoline?

since you mention sesamin, AF was not the first to carry it, and you will find that there is significant feedback on other forums about sesamin. Its a potent PPAR alpha agonist, actually more potent than many of the "pharmaceuticals" that you so highly prize.

if you care to present any evidence contrary to these statements feel free to do so, otherwise perhaps you should take a look at where your irrational anger and rejection of naturally occuring chemicals is coming from...

Thanks for all the posts, to answer a few Q's,my current cycle is

60mg dbol ED
750mg Test wk

Broke out the worse on this cycle, plus had Gyno that went away post cycle:
500mg Test
500mg Deca
50mg winny

Yes I am very prone to acne, had it bad as a youth and off and on as an adult, looks like I need to go ahead and see a Doc and try some accutane, how much per month does the scipt cost? I have blue cross blue sheild ins. will they cover some of it? thanks in advance.....

I think we are missing a big point here. The hormonal imbalance that creates the acne in the first place. Washes, soaps, tea tree oil or all band-aid approaches to the actual problem here. Hormonal flux! For example Sust has 4 different tests with 4 different time periods of release..this creates an up and down hormonal imbalance..thus break outs, just like when you were a teenager. So if you are prone to acne choose a test that has a nice even release (test ent & test cyp for example) and then inject at the half life of each then you have a nice even level of test in your body without the flux of the ups and down.s

I know you have to take the good with the bad but this whole acne problem is getting out of hand. I tried everything over the counter, then tried B5 at 5000mg per day, still have HEAVY acne on my delts and back. I have heard so much bad stuff about accutane (liver damage, depression etc.) I have tried to stay away from it. Truth is, if I just had a minor case of acne I would care less but I have a very very noticable amount, any suggestions??????

Go see a dermatologist and you'll be on the right path. Also B5 is not a miracle substance for everyone. I personally think it's useless for acne.

joker - how long is the cycle and how long into the cycle before you started breaking out? I've only ever done test enth and deca cycles and found that I start breaking out either towards the end or especially during and after PCT (alot)...

I wasn't very proactive for my previous cycles but this time around, I have been.... staying hydrated is a must, not just for acne prevention but for everything else under the sun.... eating clean is important too... I've also been taking Sesamin and R-ALA... for other reasons than acne prevention but if it helps for that, well it's one more reason to take them... as for washes and stuff, I use Neutrogena body wash & scrub every day, plus moisturizers with salicylic acid... why not take preventive measures? So far, I've been acne free but I'll know for sure if all these efforts will pay off in a few weeks or so, once PCT is underway.... I'm sure I'll have more to say then...

Agreed. Besides bro, it sounds like he was wanting some options other than accutane to try out first.

Come on, I know everyone has there folk remedies for acne they swear work, but I would love to see a study that shows acne is caused by dehydration.

You can try all the stuff people are recommending and maybe sho some slight improvement, but if you have acne as bad as it sounds you should toss all the herbal crap in the trash, go to a dermatologist, and get it treated like the medical condition that it is. Somehow I doubt hes going to but you on a course of SesaPURE and water.

Herbal crap? You're living in the dark ages.. surgery and scrips are a way of the past. Depressed me to hear this logic. Look into Kevin Trudeau's book "Natural Cures."

Yes, I'm in the pharmaceutical industry.

Although a nice theory, when put into use it did not work as expected.
