I would NEVER NOT get a lawyer. In my younger days I got a Minor in Possession, a tiny crime. I went court myself and delayed my case twice, the third time went up there alone and I got the book thrown at me for something so stupid. I was on supervised probation and had to go to alcohol classes and I paid a HUGE fine because I didnt have a lawyer. I would never face a judge with a DUI without a lawyer. It will be on his driving record forever if he does that.

get a lawyer. one way or another you will be paying $$$$. thats what this is all about. you either pay the lawyer who then takes the judge and PA either golfing or to a nice lunch/dinner on you and they laugh about your case make up some plea agreement. Then you will probably get the dui reduced to reckless driving, have to pay for alcohol classes, and maybe do some comm service. Without a lawyer the dui will stick, lisence will take longer to get back, many hrs of comm service, probation + fees, more alky classes that you will have to pay for.

good advice cindy. it is too hard going thru something like this on your own. the court system is very intimidating for the average person who makes a dumb mistake, for a misdemeanor charge . they just want to churn you out and collect money.

Anyone driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs deserves to wrap their car around a tree before exploding in to a big fiery ball of fire, preferably on a quiet stretch of road so no one else has to suffer for your stupidity & selfishness.

The UK is trying to now implement zero tolerance of drink driving limits & quite rightly so; the sentences imposed on people for killing / maiming other people while DUI or pre-occupied with texting are laughable. Want to kill someone & serve only 6months-2 years custodial sentence? Drive 2 tonnes of steel & rubber in to them at 70mp/h while texting with one hand & downing a quarter bottle of Finnlandia vodka in the other.

nah brahddah. This guy needs to listen to glennds, da Cali brah. Get the lawyer. Everyone but you says to get the lawyer. I would have a lawyer if it were me...and not some public defender either.
