Of course I won't do it again. I was already quitting alcohol altogether just for health reasons prior to this but the one time I decide to have a little fun with this girl I get F'd in the A.

Its going to be okay. Find a good lawyer, it wont be on your record. You'll be fine. IT will be expensive, but it will all be okay.

So I just recently moved to Cali. Long story short; I rarely drink but I went out tuesday with a girl and was driving her car back to her house which was like half a mile away and I managed to be pulled over for a headlight that was out and was arrested for a DUI. I blew a .089%. So appearantly DUI's are a big deal out here, I know I shouldn't have been driving but didn't think I was that intoxicated. Any advice as far as should I get a lawyer, no lawyer, plead guilty/not guilty etc? I'm not an alcoholic and it blows that the first time I drink in seven months results in something that sounds like will fuck my record for good. Advice?

i got a lawyer for mine because i facing reckless driving and dui in the same offense, plus i had a few reckless drivings on my record already. This was in Virginia, and I facing a decent bit of jail time. lawyer cost me 2k i think.. got me community service, and got my reckless charge dropped

That 2k would have been better spent on hookers. Or maybe some height helper shoe inserts for your brother.

you obviously weren't sober enough to realize only half the road was illuminated.. it's not like you got pulled over for going 26mph in a 25. if you drive with a head light out you should expect to get pulled over.

Yep fully working lights/signals is proper etiquette for ridin dirty. You can't give them a reason in the first place.

What's the legal limit in Cali? If it's .08, a lawyer should definitely be able to get you off on a technicality since you blew so close to the limit (calibration issues, the margin of error for the test, ect). Get a lawyer no matter what though, especially since you passed the field sobriety tests...you should be able to at least plead it down if not get off outright. And LEARN from this; if you have that third drink, you take a cab...even if you feel stone cold sober.
