abscess???

buddy of my has started some new gear... 2 weeks in and 2 injections... extremely painful each injections... he is going to discontinue it but now has what appears to be maybe an abscess... he described it as "blister like" on his ass about 9 inches X 4-5 inches... yeah, huge. He said it is red but not hot to the touch. It has been about 6-7 days since last inject. Said it did decrease in size a bit last night and not as painful.

Any advice?

If it is that large it sounds like it ruptured. I would get to a doc ASAP.

Abscesses can lead to hospital stays and in really bad cases amputation of a limb or a huge chunk of flesh surgically removed.

Doctor. No question. At the very least he's gonna need antibiotics. That doesn't sound good. I'm in the medical field myself so I always have Cipro, Keflex and Augmentin on hand for these kind of things. Never happened yet but I'm ready for it!

Don't fuck around, he should check with a doctor. Don't wait like I did and end up having to go under the knife. Not fun.

if its going down that is somewhat of a good sign also what is the compund(s) he's using. Prop does that to me where I'm borderline going to the doc by the 5th or 6th day but it got better and I steer clear of most props.
