If you are trying to get a certain look on a certain, you can also do a carb deplete from day 7 to day 4 out from whatever day is your target day (e.g. Sunday thru Wed before a Saturday). This means cut out all your complex carbs, only carbs are coming from veggies. You'll look flat as hell and feel like shit by that Wednesday. Then on Thurs & Fri start carb loading -- like 400 g complex carb. In conjunction, drink 2 gallons of water / day Sunday - Tues. Then on Wed cut that amount in half, Thurs in half again, Friday in half again -- you'd be at 1/2 gal. Between this & carb deplete /load, you should be peeing a lot ("dropping water") and then filling out like crazy by Friday & Saturday w/ the carbs. Further the carbs will suck up further subcutaneous water to make whatever you got look even better because your skin will be thinner.
BUT CAUTION -- On Saturday, start easing back into the water & the heavy foods - you may experience some amount of rebound and bloat up if you start loading all the crap right away.
This is a basic last week prep prior to a bodybuilding competition or a photo shoot. It will get a particular look on a particular day tho.
Otherwise, diet & cardio.
