cleft palate is a congenital defect, if it has one there is the possibility of their being others....and i think i would have qualms aborting a foetus which has developed neural tissue, having said that what do you do about congenital defects, or rape victims, or babies that are unable to be cared and loved for....ultimately a woman should always have a right to what happens to her body, if she chooses that she doesnt want life support for a child then so be it...and if it is possibly viable then it should be delivered

The 'shocking ultrasound' pics are normal for that age, and its only news because its the first time the oblic has seen them. the ob/gyn that published them is anti-abortion so gave arguements that the foetus's move, swallow suckle etc

muscle fibre's have to twitch, if they dont they atrophy. foetus's have a swallowing and suckling reflex...he was playing on what the general public would react to
