Okay, so laugh if you want to, but I lived in a house when I was about in first grade that was "haunted."

Some of the things that we experienced was whispering, footsteps, doors slamming, hooded dark figure that would appear and disappear. (Other family members saw more than me. I never saw the dark figure or heard the whispering). Also, I had an obviously murdered bunny rabbit and some other stuff. However, the worst even for me and most dramatic event involved a doll that levitated and did some pretty wicked looking stuff.

My brother freaked out about the doll, too. Some other stuff happened with the doll but I don't want to make this post too long by explaining all the stuff that happened in this house. Suffice it to say that the crazy shit that went down was almost as dramatic as say the Amityville horror movie...lol.

As adults, Chuck and I discussed the doll. We had never talked to each other about it before. He described seeing it levitate too (at a different time and when he was alone with it) What he described was very similar to what I saw, and I had not told him any details about what I saw the doll do.

Well, anyway, I was back in my home town yesterday and I drove by that house and took some pictures of it and tried to work up the nerve to ask the current occupants if they had ever experienced anything, but I couldn't work up the nerve to knock on their door.

Anyway, I went up the road that lies behind the house. It goes pretty much straight up a HUGE hill and we were never allowed to go up there as kids. Well, it turns out that the top of the hill is where all the towers are (I think just electrical towers is what I was seeing). The road was so hard to get up to the top that I got scared I was going to get stuck. I really needed a jeep to be doing this. It had deep ruts in the road and holes and was so steep.

So, I was thinking, do you think electrical lines over head like that could cause the brain to malfunction and hallucinate. If so, how do we explain that we had the same hallucination? I never saw anything odd the rest of my life after we left that house except that the doll showed up at a new house after I threw it out in the trash at the old house. My brother experienced some other things other places, but I never did. As far as I know, my mother didn't either.

As background, people who came to visit us at that house often left and wouldn't stay after seeing things or hearing things.

So, do you think this could be a phenomenon caused by a static field or something?

First, you talk about how people around you are being murdered and now this? No wonder you don't get many second dates.

i don't get many FIRST dates. Get it straight...lol.

Really? I would of thought that people would be clawing all over each other to get to you.

Then you'd freak them out with a haunting story and they'd run away scared.

LOL...yeah, single moms with pie fetishes are really popular these days, especially if they appear to be schizophrenic to top it off.

Isn't that a porn group somewhere?

Hey Heather,

I love watching Ghost Hunters and while some are legit hauntings others have to do with the effects electical currents have on the brain. When you have high electro magnetic levels it can cause nausea, hallucinations, anxiety, and fear. They call it a "fear cage" when it's in a house.

Now when two people both see a doll levitate that's a different story.

You should ask the people if they have wierd stuff happening. If they do they should contact Ghost Hunters and maybe get a show done there! That would be cool!

No, I am not a paranormal geek. Just dig the show!

now comment on my elctricity theory.

I will post pics of the house and the hill behind it. The hill is huge and I never realized what an awesome view it had. You can see the whole town from up there.

Strange thing, I kept dreaming of going up a hill that looked just like this hill. In my dream there is a house on the hill and I am afraid. When I went up this hill IRL, it looked eerily similar to the hill in my dreams, except there is no house. There are towers. My hair stood on end. From the electricity?

yes, this is what I mean! Everyone who tried to spend the night wouldn't stay. Grown people literally would flee in the night. We all were always very afraid in that house. There was a heavy, dark feeling like something was just going to eat you alive. It's hard to explain.

The only thing I can't explain is why we were hallucinating the same things. I had hundreds of dolls. So, why would my brother and I hallucinate that this particular doll did the exact same things when we had not discussed it with each other. He said he saw it lift out of a rocking chair and wave its arms around and get a meniacal look on its face. I saw it do the same thing but it levitated out of the bed and hovered over my mom's face while I was sleeping in bed with my mom.

Yeah, the pie thing ruined it.

also, sometimes we would be sitting watching tv together and we ALL would hear heavy footsteps upstairs. How come we would all hallucinate the same things?

The activity was by far the strongest in the basement.

I wouldnt expect the electrical lines to be the root of it. In those shows its concentrated in those areas of the house that have excessive electrical lines etc. for them to be behind the house and up atop a hill I would think they are too far away to be causing what you are describing. Thats just my theory. I mean do you feel paranoid, scared, heavy feeling when your around TP's and such around town?

I think that's kinda neat. So who are you today and what kind of adventure are we gonna have in the sack tonight.
It's not just sex it's an adventure

Oh and back to the topic.

I do not think you were hallucinating, I believe it could very well have been a real haunting.

It's virtually impossible for two people to have identical hallucinations at different times unless they've shared the experience with each other, so if you never told your brother and vice versa I'm quite inclined to believe that what you two had was legit. Also the fact that people who would come over to the house were uncomfortable to the point of leaving without being told anything about the property is a strong indicator that something was going on.

EVERY single place I've been in that was supposedly haunted had a similar unpleasant feeling, a feeling of someone being behind you/in the same room with you/watching you. I was never in a place that was as actively haunted as the one you're describing.

Now what I do wonder about is if the EMF somehow amped up what was already in the house? Non physical manifestations are energy, and maybe if there's extra energy in the atmosphere it can build up the metaphysical muscles :whatever: who knows. Interesting point of discussion for the future. I've wondered if somehow manifestations that occur near natural energy sources, i.e., high concentration of certain minerals in the soil or proximity to ley lines, aren't one of the causes of certain types of hauntings to begin with.

No, it's virtually impossible for a doll to levitate and start spinning its fucking arms. They are siblings, so their brains are gonna be wired at least somewhat similarly. There was probably something about THAT particular doll that was creepy to them, so if they were to hallucinate about a doll, of course it would be the same one.

I think Heatherae is going down memory lane going around to all of her OLD lovers lanes and having memorys of the goood olllllllllllllllllllllllllle days.....lololololol

Man, I could be wrong... but I think some people have very vivid imaginations... Some claim that God talks to them... I've never seen anything visibly out of the ordinary in my entire life. And that's quite some time.

:whatever:

What are we, but energy? Take anything down to a small enough molecular level and we are NOTHING, most of an atom is nothingness. Just because you can't see the hands that hold the doll up and move it does not mean there are no hands, just hands made of something you can't perceive.

What annoys me is when people say "Nope, can't happen, goes against the laws of nature/is outside of my experiences/can't be reproduced under laboratory conditions, ergo, impossible/doesn't exist."

Look at the great mathematicians and astronomers whose science are the foundations of our current understanding of the natural world. How many of them were denounced as blasphemers or frauds in their time? A closed mind is the biggest indicator of ignorance and the greatest obstacle to progress in all of humanity.

If Heather says she saw something, I believe her, I don't give a fuck how old she was. I was a child, too, I believed in fantasy, but I NEVER saw anything fantastic in my childhood, and I knew the difference between waking and dreaming, why should I think any less of her? Children who hallucinate generally have something seriously wrong with their brains and don't usually have one or two hallucinations and never again. They generally hallucinate often until they end up in the doctor's office needing medication or surgery.

I believe she saw something also, in her head. lol. what really makes me think she is hallucinating is that she said the doll got a maniacal look on its face. Nothing is gonna actually change the face of the doll, and then change it right back to the original state moments later. By the way, i have hallucinated (shrooming doesn't count) exactly one time in my life and then never again. Also i never said a "haunted house" wasn't possible, i just said a hallucination as more likely.

Well, as you notice, I haven't ruled out hallucinations, but it just seemed unlikely that I would hallucinate only in this one house. Why didn't I hallucinate any more after we moved? Kids do have vivid imaginations, and I didn't like to sleep alone. I also was only in the first grade, so I'm not ruling out those factors. It just seems weird that no one else would sleep there either.

On the side of the argument against an actual haunting, some new family has lived there for quite a long time and the house looks very pleasant (lots of flowers and such). If they were experiencing the same things, I would doubt that they would stay in the house.

As a side note, I gave the doll to a little girl because I threw it away and it somehow ended up under my bed in the new house and scared the holy living shit out of me. She died of anorexia and had a heart attack. :worried:

can you post pics of the house that you took?

can you find a pic of the doll you had online?

yeah, let me load a pic of the house here in a second.

The doll was made for me by my father while he was in rehab for alcoholism. It was made of braided yarn and had red yarn hair and red felt freckles on it.

possessions and things iteself can have those energies on them (i cant believe that i'm posting this!) check out ebay for these dolls and jewlery and other items. maybe it was not your house, but the doll that was haunted.

i have also hallucinated but i have chosen to believe that it was a hallucination instead of demons from the third realm of hell fucking with me.

dont expose your mind to those thoughts. once you think they are real, you can never shake that feeling. just leave it be , dont think about it and dont ask questions. lol.

Other people in my family saw a full bodied apparition, though, more than once. So, I think it was more than just the doll. However, I never saw that thing. They said it was extremely tall and wore a black hood.

Who knows? Maybe I was just hallucinating because my family was scaring the shit out of me with ghost stories.

YIKES.

This is a fun place to go and read about some stuff that you might not know about -strange stuff - who knows if its true or not. some of these things contradict my beliefs some line right up - but i was trying to figure out why i was having such bad episodes of sleep paralysis. according to this site i was visited by demons themselves. according to science i was hallucinating while still in a dream state. i choose to believe the hallucinating. lol.

I do believe in energy all around us. Because the form of the flesh may not be present, doesn't mean the energy is dead.
Like MM said, energy never dies.

I also believe power wires and cell phone frequencies are altering our energies.
They are linking the loss of bees and bats to cell phone frequencies
Scary!

Okay, now I'm just freaked the hell out all over again. The images of the house appear on my camera view finder but they will not load to photobucket. I've tried 3 times and every picture on the card will load EXCEPT every photo of that house will not upload. Okay, that is a bit FREAKY. The pictures of the woods and the road and towers loaded, though. =-( :worried:

I don't really know. I heard that there was a suicide in the house, but that may just be an exageration. My mom was prone to tall tales.

has there ever been any scientific studies of the effect of electricity on the brain? Any proof that it can cause fear or hallucinations?

omg I bet those people in there were wondering why some fierce broad with a baby carriage in her car was sitting down there photographing them.

Ok seriously though that is some creepy shit.

And people say that homemade / handmade dolls often act as door ways for entry into our realm by spirits riding the emotional rifts of their makers.

After it showed up at the second house, I would have burned it.

Why? WTF you telling us it even happened once if you won't tell us the rest? As far as EF is concerned. It never happened.

Hmmphh!

How can you dangle this in front of us and not share. Unless of course, it involves a Satan possessed Matt Stryker dildo and brimstone.

LOL...I was really hoping they didn't see me out there taking photos. I so wanted to go knock on the door and ask them about ghosts but figured they would think I was absolutely stark raving mad.

Well, my father was in rehab and my parents were divorcing, so I'm sure there were lots of negative emotions when he was making that doll for me.

this might sound nutty but ive been thinking a lot lately about religion, the physical world etc and how they can coexist, and something that strikes me as making sense is that they actually overlap ie the spiritual beings that we supposedly are, in another dimension, exactly overlap - and things like ghosts etc are bits that dont overlap, whether by accident, or design

That is an interesting idea. That would make a good book or movie.
