a plausible explanation for haunting phenomenon

Okay, so laugh if you want to, but I lived in a house when I was about in first grade that was "haunted."

Some of the things that we experienced was whispering, footsteps, doors slamming, hooded dark figure that would appear and disappear. (Other family members saw more than me. I never saw the dark figure or heard the whispering). Also, I had an obviously murdered bunny rabbit and some other stuff. However, the worst even for me and most dramatic event involved a doll that levitated and did some pretty wicked looking stuff.

My brother freaked out about the doll, too. Some other stuff happened with the doll but I don't want to make this post too long by explaining all the stuff that happened in this house. Suffice it to say that the crazy shit that went down was almost as dramatic as say the Amityville horror movie...lol.

As adults, Chuck and I discussed the doll. We had never talked to each other about it before. He described seeing it levitate too (at a different time and when he was alone with it) What he described was very similar to what I saw, and I had not told him any details about what I saw the doll do.

Well, anyway, I was back in my home town yesterday and I drove by that house and took some pictures of it and tried to work up the nerve to ask the current occupants if they had ever experienced anything, but I couldn't work up the nerve to knock on their door.

Anyway, I went up the road that lies behind the house. It goes pretty much straight up a HUGE hill and we were never allowed to go up there as kids. Well, it turns out that the top of the hill is where all the towers are (I think just electrical towers is what I was seeing). The road was so hard to get up to the top that I got scared I was going to get stuck. I really needed a jeep to be doing this. It had deep ruts in the road and holes and was so steep.

So, I was thinking, do you think electrical lines over head like that could cause the brain to malfunction and hallucinate. If so, how do we explain that we had the same hallucination? I never saw anything odd the rest of my life after we left that house except that the doll showed up at a new house after I threw it out in the trash at the old house. My brother experienced some other things other places, but I never did. As far as I know, my mother didn't either.

As background, people who came to visit us at that house often left and wouldn't stay after seeing things or hearing things.

So, do you think this could be a phenomenon caused by a static field or something?

First, you talk about how people around you are being murdered and now this? No wonder you don't get many second dates.

Really? I would of thought that people would be clawing all over each other to get to you.

Then you'd freak them out with a haunting story and they'd run away scared.

LOL...yeah, single moms with pie fetishes are really popular these days, especially if they appear to be schizophrenic to top it off.

Isn't that a porn group somewhere?

Hey Heather,

I love watching Ghost Hunters and while some are legit hauntings others have to do with the effects electical currents have on the brain. When you have high electro magnetic levels it can cause nausea, hallucinations, anxiety, and fear. They call it a "fear cage" when it's in a house.

Now when two people both see a doll levitate that's a different story.

You should ask the people if they have wierd stuff happening. If they do they should contact Ghost Hunters and maybe get a show done there! That would be cool!

No, I am not a paranormal geek. Just dig the show!

now comment on my elctricity theory.

I will post pics of the house and the hill behind it. The hill is huge and I never realized what an awesome view it had. You can see the whole town from up there.

Strange thing, I kept dreaming of going up a hill that looked just like this hill. In my dream there is a house on the hill and I am afraid. When I went up this hill IRL, it looked eerily similar to the hill in my dreams, except there is no house. There are towers. My hair stood on end. From the electricity?

yes, this is what I mean! Everyone who tried to spend the night wouldn't stay. Grown people literally would flee in the night. We all were always very afraid in that house. There was a heavy, dark feeling like something was just going to eat you alive. It's hard to explain.

The only thing I can't explain is why we were hallucinating the same things. I had hundreds of dolls. So, why would my brother and I hallucinate that this particular doll did the exact same things when we had not discussed it with each other. He said he saw it lift out of a rocking chair and wave its arms around and get a meniacal look on its face. I saw it do the same thing but it levitated out of the bed and hovered over my mom's face while I was sleeping in bed with my mom.

Yeah, the pie thing ruined it.
