thats in corpus christi tx. which means he gets to go to our very nice Texas State pound me in the ass prison. good, hes just another empty vessel punk esse.

Rapists and child molesters get less prison time than that! This is ridiculous!

Is he serving in time in a private prison? Maybe the judge is getting kickbacks from prison operators.

For a property offense costing $7000 an 18 year old gets 8 years incarceration, some very violent sex offenders don't get that much.

WTF is it with LE in Texas? Biggest bunch of punitive, vindictive assholes I've ever seen in one place. You don't put an 18yo kid in state for tagging.

You think there aren't enough prisoners in the US yet?

Check your rate of incarceration compared to every other developed nation. Check your crime rate while you're at it.

Mike Tyson got 3 years for rape, this douche bag gets 8 years for graffiti? Makes perfect sense.

That judge must be Nancy Grace's evil twin.

So we should just let them all out and then our incarceration numbers would look better?

Guys emerge from prison in the US as heroes. I'd rather them emerge as survivors.

No, that wasn't the point of my post.

Locking everybody up does not reduce your crime rate.

In fact locking people up for a ridiculously long time for non-violent minor offenses is making things worse.

Stop throwing people in prison for weed and graffiti and other minor shit. This kid should have gotten community service, preferably cleaning up graffiti, so he can learn his lesson. Now he will get a chance to graduate to a hardened criminal when he gets out.

never mind the fact that junior, when given a light sentence in the past, was not deterred! instead of learning from his past mistakes, he chose not to, since the punishment was so petty...over the years the costs mount as poor junior is arrested/rearrested/and arrested some more, only to be released cause hey, it's just petty crime!!! quite being so mean!!!!!@

I have to think that if he'd been tagging and re-tagging your property for the past year, you'd want him to get more than community service.

I would want him to clean that shit up. Give him community service cleaning graffiti, that would fit the crime. If he's been doing it for a long time then give him a couple of hundred/thousand hours, 6am start, 7 days a week, he'll learn soon enough.

If he is violent then lock him up. Did he rob an old lady? Did he bash somebody? Did he rape a little girl?

Lock him up and throw away the key if he did any of that. For property offenses, make him work his ass off.

We're on the same page with violent guys and I could almost buy into the work his ass off approach. I'm sure our government would screw-up the administration of such a program, buy hey -- we can always lock him up once he hurts somebody.
 
The problem with some of your post's is the word "your and you" what if it was your property what if you this. He's a misdirected kid, it could have been anyone of you growing up had your lives taken a different course (yes it could, don't give me that i would never do this, i'm a good boy crap), your heads must be so far up your own asses I'm surprised your not covered in shit.

The company I work for has a warehouse that gets tagged all the time due to its visibility from the street. It's the same few douchebags tagging it too. We know this because it is the same name/style being sprayed over and over again. We know they've been caught doing it because the cops tell us when they catch em. Clearly though the punishment for such an act isn't very harsh as they seem to go right back to doing it a couple days later. It becomes taxing and tiresome after awhile as we are the ones having to go out there and paint over it. Why should our owner have to shell out money for paint and cover employee labor costs because some little fuckstick doesn't have any respect for other peoples property?

8 years wasn't enough, do society a favor and fry his ass.

because locking up kids who tag in most cities would be considered racist. Cops (politicians) care more about PR and people protesting in the streets than your wishes and pocketbook.

If it happened to me - i'[d just pay the local street gang to 'fix the problem'.

tagging is the least of our problems if we start sending ppl to jail for 8 years for spray painting.. Certainly there are other options. Perhaps you could offer your tagger a job in the warehouse?
